Morning, having a pants day. Went to take dd1-aged 13 to docs as someone threw something in her eye yesterday. Also got booked in to have my flu jab tomorrow.
Whilst we were there i decided to address the fact that she's still suffering from thrush and the cream they are prescribing isn't working as its to releive itching and she doesn't have that. She has a lot of discharge and it smells bad. Its awful for her at school, she feels uncomfortable. Last time the nurse told her she is likely to suffer with it all her life, which broke her heart.
So i asked the doc to prescribe a tablet to just clear it up, he wrote out the prescription, then checked the book and said he can't give it her as she needs to be 16. He asked if i wanted more cream.....had he listened to what i'd said? so i said no we still have a tube and a half, he said to keep using it and if it continues to come back.....what for? This is at least the 4th visit in 6 months....its not going and the cream isn't working.
So i went to the pharmacy to ask for advice, didn;t get past the 1st line before bursting into tears...tried to describe everything whilst being a blubbering mess in front of dd1 and dd2. Not sure who was more embarassed, me, the staff or my poor kids.
Pharmacist was lovely, but also couldn't give her anything different and suggested i take her to the nurse as they are more sympathetic.
I just don't know what to do...i'm going round in circles and can't stop crying. She's 13 and shouldn't have to be going through this
Does anyone have any advice or know of any herbal remedies that she can try?
She has regular tea tree oil baths to try to help, i think they ease it a little, but its not a solution.
xx
When i was young I used to get it quite mild I found using a feminine wash used to stop flare ups.

It sounds like your DD has it worse than I did but I guess it can't hurt trying and i would definitely recommend she used it once you get it under control.FairyShazza wrote: »

Just delurking to say I hope Ladylegs is having mummy cuddles by now, I guess as she is MIA it's a good sign.

Hi just stuck my head in to see if fuzz had popped yet!;)
Jojo good advice from people, is there a reason why she's not been given a pessary yet? I also suffered from recurring thrush and other than what you're doing I'd say cut out refined sugar as much as possible, try pro-biotics and try switching to all cotton tampons or pads like natracare as they're less drying.
Hope to be joing you all in december!0 -

I've made a start - I printed out this list and am ticking things off as I put them in:

Thanks for the links Lilian.
Congrats for 20 weeks PC
I've had some good news from the physio - apparently my hip has stabilised and my pubic bone is still aligned, although there is still quite a gap. Looks like finishing work early was the right call for me at least.
Maybe now I've had all that good news I've had today I might be able to enjoy being pregnant for a while! (apart from the heartburn, leg cramps etc!)
Fuzz - it didn't do any damage, not as much damage as fire crackers would :rotfl::rotfl:Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

Fuzz don't worry about having the baby, whenever, take your time.
From one full term lady to another0 -
LILLIAN - i had a pessary for thrush and i didn't use the applicator as it can go up quite far , my pack said not to i just used my finger sorry if TMI x
JOJO - just leave the yoghurty tampon up there generally overnight. Also does she bath or shower i find using any kind of bubble bath or gel or soap down there sets it off, i now just use water or (if i can afford it my neals yard body wash it has no soap or nasty stuff in it )I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0
