Labour vibes for delain. Have they popped her waters yet??

I am sore today, my right hip mostly and over right bum cheek. I thought I had trapped sciatic nerve but I think its officially the start of bad SPD although the pain is more around the back. I think we will be in the count down until crutches. It didn't help that OH was hoovering the car and he is incapable of fitting a car seat which drives me loopy so I was clambring about plus the seat themselves are not exactly light.
Yes, waters popped, they are waiting to see if the contractions start, if not they will give her the drip

(((hugs))) for the pain, lilac I am starting to think I might need crutches too. Just stood for 5 mins in the kitchen and was in tears by the end. DH will have to peel the potatoes for dinner!

courgette - glad you're chilled about it all

Does anyone know whether when your mum had you/her babies has any correlation to when you're likely to go? I was just thinking how my mum was booked for a planned section at 38 weeks but then her waters broke at 37, so I was 3 weeks early.

Sorry to hear this, and to all the SPD ladies. One tip (I know I drone on about this) never ever ever stand when you can sit - as in sit down to peal the potatoes. Crutches wouldn't help at all in that situation, a stool would be lovely :D

Thansk courgette, I think I might move the small table into the kitchen so I can do things like that sat down...we don't have any stools and wouldn't reach the worktop otherwise!

Definatly agree with courgette about the SPD and sitting down, that is the only real relief. I find my crutches great for getting out the house (i actulally wouldnt leave the house without them for fear of falling over) but i struggle to use the crutches inside the house, and get annoyed that i cant carry anything or use my hands properly. I also find that being on the crutches for more than an hour gives me back ache in a completely new place!! :(

Labour Vibes to all who need them!! we need more baby news :)

Had a busy day (for me at the mo. anyway) was in town bright and early with OH to take changing table back to Mothercare as it didnt match the cot and we have decided to order a changer that goes on top of chest of draws, managed to pop into a few shops in town as it was still quiet but within 40 minutes i was in too much pain and had to leave. Had OH's Mum and Uncle here for lunch then the boys did some DIY in babies room and i listened to MIL for 3 hours, now cooking tea and looking forward to X-Factor and chocolate this evening:T

Courgette - I sit at every opportunity but sometimes you just can't avoid walking or standing like if you are in a shop. A motorised scooter would be good.

My Oh is being a grumpy git. Just a moan really kids said they wanted grapes and lemon (melon) for pudding and he is moaning about it. I am on the sofa in pain and he is all girls I have more than enough to do without getting you a pudding then he gets up and gets himself a yoghurt from the fridge and makes a coffee for only him. Now grapes are in a bag in the fridge, they are seedless and the kids eat them whole, Melon i sliced and diced this morning and its in a tub. Really it takes seconds to put a handfull of grapes and a few chunks on melon in a bowl so I got up and did it. Why are men such noobs?

Sounds a bit like my OH too Lilacpixie - he can easily make himself a coffee or tea but never asks if I want one. But its ok for him to ask me to make him a cup of tea every hour or so! I always feel like I am the one who tops up the kids juice cups and gets them snacks mostly too. Only difference is I wish my kids would eat Melon lol! :p

I sit down for lots of things - emptying the drier, the dishwasher/washing the pots, making sandwiches - everything! I just feel all funny and faint if I stand too long.

My physio initially suggested I use one crutch in the house if 2 was difficult, but I am now favouring one side so she has suggested I just use the furniture around the house to get about.

She also says regular heat packs on the painful areas and I find this easier to manage than the bath.

Do you not have a shopmobility near you? We have one in Cardiff that anyone with a blue badge can use, parking for your car and then hire of mobility scooter or wheelchair whatever is easier for you.
