In fact OH has said he will treat me to one as my sciatica has been playing up this week, and apparently massage is great to help relieve it.
My yoga teacher does it, it's £45 for an hour, so think I may go for it.
Just wondered what it entailed as you obviously can't lie on your front.
I used to do Aromatherapy and reflexology. I did a few pg massages. I used to turn a chair round so the back was at the front, then have it against my bed. Id then have a pillow at the front and have the client lean forward onto the pillow and have her head resting on my bed. hope that makes sense lol.
That way i could get access to her whole back and she was comfy leaning forward. Id have a towel over the pillow so she could wrap it around herself when id finished.
I always just used olive oil with a little lavender. but for those at term id add some clary sage.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

:eek: No bl00dy way this is defiantely my last LOl. DH is being booked in for the snip as soon as bubs is born
Paws so sorry for you, not really sure what else to say. You know everyone is here for support ((hugs)). x
Emsy I don't really know your background with your ex but if he left you when he found out you are pregnant he is an @rsehole and doesn't deserve you. No matter how hard it might be, you just show him what you are made of and make him realise he is nothing to you. You'll find someone who deserves your love. xx
Great news digital about heartbeat. I was thinking I had my next appointment next week but it's the week after and hopefully i'll hear bub's hearbeat then.
Breastfeeding and periods - I breastfed for 8 months and my periods returned long before that, I think I bled initially for about 6 weeks then I'm sure they returned as normal after that. Just your luck I suppose!
Some of you were talking about dopplers, I was speaking to my friend at work today who was thinking about getting one, but her midwife actually advised against it as the hearbeat can be difficult to find and it just sends people into a panic. I suppose it reassures lot of other though."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

Best wishes Paws. I hope you get some reassurance today.
37w 4d now and 6 more working days. I'm totally bored with work now and on a little bit of a short fuse.
Is anyone at the same point as me sleeping really badly? The night before last I woke at 2.50am to go to the loo and never got back to sleep.
I think I finally have everything done, and I won a brand new cot bedding set from Mothercare on E-bay for £12. Result!0 -
Paws - try keep an open mind and stay calm. lots of thing can affect triple test bloods most commonly if yor dates a bit iffy. Good luck.
I have a doopler and i love it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Hugs, Pawpurrs, that must've been an awful shock. When I was wondering whether to have Down's screening, my MW told me about one of her ladies who was given a 1 in 4 chance of Downs, got all geared up for the baby to have it, then it was born without Downs. However another of her ladies who was given a very low risk result did have a baby with Down's. So it's not a foregone conclusion, even at 1 in 2. They'll no doubt be offering a much more accurate test at the hospital.
Note to self - Google is not my friend! After posting about my possible coldsore this morning, I made the mistake of googling the risks to newborns... and got myself worked up into such a state at the horror stories I found that DH had to come rushing home from work to calm me downLuckily his work is health-related and they have Doctors/Pharmacists at the office, so he had a chat with someone there which has eased my mind a bit. I am seeing my MW tomorrow as well, so will see what she says too.
TMI Alert. There hasn't been any mention of "special poos" lately, but after weeks of being bunged up, things have become rather looser over the last day or so (I can't believe I'm posting details of my bowel functions online!) Hopefully this means something will happen soon (after I've had a go at getting TT tickets, obviously
)

Hi all
I'm just having a quick look around the entitledto.com website - you know where it says "how many hours do you work?" - if I'll be getting maternity leave pay from my employer, do I still put zero? I assume I do but it's very confusing! My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.0 -

My poo's have definitley been "different" lately!!
Have also being contracting since 4am but I fell aslepp for a couple of hours around 11ish and everything seems to have stopped  (sorry to all those above me)
Hope you start soon though and google is NOT your friend in this situation
paws I know this is easier said that done but try not to worry unless you NEED to. If the results are from the triple test then they are notoriously inaccurate - and also what Merfe said
lillian You put what hours you are contracted to as if you are still at work.
Hugs and vibes to all

((Hugs)) Paws. Hope it's going well for you at the hospital. I must admit I'm not keen on having the tests as much as DH is and TBH I wouldn't abort for Downs anyway. They can lead quite independent lives it's just a challenge which people do cope with. Anything more severve I'd be tempted but still not sure what to do. My BFF is 40 soon and wouldn't have it for her DD as she said she was a gift whatever.
Plus....my mum was in hospital the same time as a mother who'd been told 100% she would give birth to a Downs baby and she had a perfectly healthy non-Downs one.
As MERFE says, it's 1 in 2 s/he is perfectly fine too.
Thinking of you x
ps. How come you know so soon? I got told by MW that test is at week 15-16 and you're same as me at 12. Surely it can't be that accurate yet? Hopefully not. x0
