I have been told that if it is all fine and dandy with no complications that I have the choice of where I want to go, either Aberdeen, Dundee or if I am really lucky Montrose which would be the preference as it's soo much closer and as it's midwife led, a lot more laid back and relaxed.

Big news from me is that there I was whinging last night about not feeling movements and lying in bed this morning, knackered, I felt a tightening in my tummy and told little one to settle and then started to feel buzzing inside, like a blue bottle flying about. I think Sammy said she felt that a while ago too. :rotfl:I then must have fallen asleep! Doh.
And then tonight on the way to work I was almost there and started to talk to my little bump and I got a response in that I felt the tightening again and I could feel the buzzing again!!!

    :T:T:T Yeay for feeling movements!
We are going to Montrose hopefully. I would highly recommend going for a look round...they were so lovely and friendly when we went and I've been left feeling pretty chilled out about the whole thing tbh (still 3 months to go so I'm sure that will change ;)). ARI are our backup in case of complications but won't even let us have a look round :(.

Just a quick one (will reply better tonight)...

Mamas and Papas have got their 10% off everything sale starting today. And clothes are 20%, some with 30% by the looks of it.

I'm hopefully going to order our pushchair today :D Although still umming and erring about the carrycot :( Argh. Don't know what to do!

  • coops that's good;)

    fanta welcome :T:j

giz afterpains are less significant with #1 but have some soluble paracetamol handy. Its a good thing as it means uterus is going back to normal.

With #2, ladies, I'm afraid they are worse, but manageable with paracetamol I found.

They tend to be more noticeable when you feed if you breastfeed, but that's 'cos breastfeeding helps uterus get back to normal more quickly.

I have another question, it might be a TMI one. I am now 6 months today and it's hit me that in 3 months I'll be having periods again...before I got pregnant I was having problems that to me seemed related to my periods, but the docs kept writing it off as just constipation (I had bleeding from the rear everytime I was on my period). It started when I came off the pill and I worried at the time that it was endometriosis, although I still think it might be. I just feel that if the bleeding was down to hemmeroids, then surely I would have had some bleeding now while pregnant and supposedly more constipated than I've ever been? But my diet has been terrible and I've not experienced any constipation/pain in bowels anywhere close to what I got pre-pregnancy. I'm waffling. Basically I'm not looking forward to having to deal with this again on a monthly basis, so I have several questions...

    1. How soon will I be able to go back on the pill
    2. What sort of pain killers can you take while breastfeeding (I was on mefanamic acid before).
    3. Is the bit after giving birth where you bleed like having a period? If the blood that came from my rear was 'period' blood and I do have endo, I wonder if it's possible that I will bleed from the rear after giving birth.

Sorry if they are silly questions. I should probably go to an endo specialist site and ask there and see if anyone with endo has experienced the bad pains/bleeding after giving birth.

Go to the forum on this site http://www.endometriosis-uk.org/

They are really fab people on there. I've not posted on there since I found out I was pg, but when I was posting regularly everyone was lovely.

I had suspected endo, but a laperoscopy came back negative. They did however remove a huge cyst from one of my ovaries and told me I had fibroids. 4 months later and I was heaving over the toilet bowl every morning (still am, *sigh*). Had it not been for the support of the forum I wouldn't have gone to be checked out and I wouldn't have gone for a lap, and I wouldn't now be pg.

If you go to see the Dr about it, just be prepared for plenty of internals, including the dildo cam  You get used to dropping your undies after a while :o. Glad I did it though.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • morning all!

Still very full of cold, OH said he thinks he may be coming down with it so I may see him home from work early this afternoon to go to bed.

Hugs Emsy! Not nice to see, especially when pg and have the added joys of loads more hormones. Keep smiling.

Giz - not quite the same but I had hormonal problems that effected my periods since they started so I would have 1 then the next wouldnt be for 3-6 months then the next was 2 weeks later and they were very heavy and painful.... I was told it was Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome but at my 1st scan with DD they said I must have been diagnosed. After DD arrived I started to have periods that were more regular (every 28-36 days), lighter and only lasted 5 days max. There is hope :D
    DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz
    DD1 arrived 20/05/09 10lb3oz

Ah thank you. This is the forum I was looking for last night! I posted on it prior to getting pregnant and I was looking to update my post and ask my questions there. They were very helpful. I've already been to docs lots about it. I had a flexi sig (worst experience ever - never again). But I'm told you can't diagnose endo with a flexi sig. But the docs just keep telling me it's constipation.

OK must work. Will reply more later!!

  • Sorry, MS brain took over and I called you Emsy. ooops. :o

Makes you wonder if Drs have ever had constipation. Do they have any idea what it's like to be bunged up (in my case for 1 week a month). It used to make me soo miserable. Then when I had unbunged I was so happy I wanted to tell everyone :D (but I didn't).

It took me 3 different Drs before I was taken seriously. The first 2 dismissed me as 'painful periods can be inconvenient can't they' Inconvenient....INCONVENIENT. Try agonising, unable to walk, want a hysterectomy once a month!!!! sorry, rant over :p

Tucked up at home pottering with work on the computer as feel really really grim today. Didn't manage to leave work until 5pm yesterday, which didn't help. Sick twice this morning before 8am, and couldn't even think about facing breakfast, so decided to have a sick day, with a bit of work thrown in to keep me from getting bored. Will try and finish the data on the site I'm working on, which will keep the manager happy for a few more weeks and take the pressure off me for a bit.

Sorry, rambling now. Brain is fuggy, so can't remember what any of you are up to, so appropriate vibes all round (especially anti-sick ones, but only if you send some my way too)

Dusty - Do you think you will get a doppler? I know it would be reassuring but what if it was the other way round and you couldn't find something and you get all panicky. When are you next at the MW. Can you listen to the HB again? I've heard mine 3 times now without having to get my own doppler.

Oh I don't know, I think it is just one of gadgets that i can probably live without. Not back at the MW til the 21st Dec and 20wk scan not for another 4 weeks. I'm not too panicked, just thought it would be nice to hear.

Hi guys. Am finally dipping my toe in the big girlie bump high school thread after graduating from the less than 12 weeks primary school. ?

    Welcome Fanta

((HUGS)) Emsy, I don't know the history behind your relationship but he sounds like a right t0sser and you are well rid.

Ema, I know OH wants a girl and a few people have said they have a feeling it is a girl but I am convinced it is a boy. Mainly cos everyone else thinks its a girl and I like ot be different. I don't mind either way but I remember what I was like as a teenager and what I put my mum through (and what she didn't know about :o) and having a daughter put me through that terrifies me.

Congrats coops - i'm jealous but it must be amazing. I was discussing the take that concerts with my friends last night when it dawned on me that I'll have to book OH for babysitting. Then I was panicking that I'm having a baby and cannot just go ahead and do things now for next year. This mum business is freaky :D

Well I am exhausted after the cinema last night, didn't get home til 11.30 which is way past my bedtime. I did get my Boots changing bag, 27 New Baby pampers nappies, No7 mascara and No7 eye shadow pallette for the grand sum of £7.74 though :money:. Also treated myself to a couple of nice winter dresses from Primark. Paying for my efforts today though, I want to go to bed.

Hugs Emsy. It's hard to see the other person move on, even when there's good reasons why you're not together. The poor girl will wise up to him soon enough, I'm sure.

Bit of a panic this morning as I seem to have a cold sore coming up and am sure I've heard that the virus can be really dangerous for babies:(. Will have to pop to the chemist and see if I can get something to zap it with.
