Thanks ladies, it will be a good few weeks before I feel anything yet then!

What about the heartbeat? My MW said she'd try and listen for hb in my next appointment, which is next week, but is 13wks too early? I have an AngelSounds doppler but couldn't even pick my own hb up so don't think I did it right :rotfl: If I took it along do you think she may be able to help me?
From what I've read/heard most midwives won't listen for a heartbeat before 16 weeks as it can be hard to find and then it can panic you. So if she does, just be prepared that she might not be able to find it. The baby is really really low down at this stage, mine was behind my pelvic bone in my 12 week scan.

My midwife struggled to find the heartbeat at my 16 week appt, and when she did I couldn't even hear it, although she said she could. Even at my 25 wk appt, she had the doppler a good couple of inches below my belly button, but I definitely heard it that time :)

Thanks dusty - you remind me of when I was back where you are. There is definitely a little bump there :)

In the books it's says the average person starts feeling from 18 - 22 weeks. I think I felt bubbles popping around 18-19 weeks, 21 weeks I saw my belly move for the first time.

I see people talking about hiccupping babies...when will I feel hiccups? And how do you know it's hiccups?

    Thanks Krystal.

Hi Gizmodo, don't post often but had to reply on the subject of hiccups! I am on #3 and have only just realised that what I can feel at least once a day is hiccups! Maybe my other 2 didn't have them - I don't know!? But this feels completely different to any other movements she makes - a gentle, regular little jump just where I know her body is laying down my left hand side. It really is quite cute!

PS I am 36 weeks and it is only recently I can feel them.

Thanks :) I'm 25 weeks, so maybe sometime to go before I tell if it's hiccups or not then.

I noticed the hiccups for the first time this week - they've got quite noticeable over the course of the week. I find them cute too, I remember putting things on my bump when I was pregnant with Oli and watching them jump with the hiccups :rotfl:

This bump is still a bit too pathetic for that - I still look like I'm just getting fat, and I'll be 26 weeks at the weekend. I'm surely due a proper bump now, that's two thirds of the way through! There are still people looking surprised when they find out I'm pregnant.

    Evening all!

Hugs to all in need, and labour vibes to anyone that wants them!!!

Has anyone every had a strange sensation in the skin on their bump?? The best way I can describe it is like that feeling when you have sunburn and the skin feels really sore. Its only in a patch around my belly button........

    Thanks

I always thought hiccups felt like getting flicked on the inside... Repeatedly... Gets irritating after a while... But I read it's part and parcel of the baby practising to breath so it's a good thing really...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Thanks hun x

It is a relief to see baby kicking away, looking forward to feeling the movements. When should I expect to feel them, does anyone know?

I can't remember with my 1st :o this time I could feel tiny tiny movements from 13 weeks so tiny I'd have missed them if it wasn't my 2nd, then proper ones from 16/17 weeks.
From 16 weeks when you go to bed lie for 10 mins flat on your stomach you may feel something.
