Boo Hoo I'm not allowed to get it as I already have a very nice pink thick padded one off DD, and a new unisex one I got in the Tesco direct sale £15 down from £50 he flipped when he knew I'd got the £15 one said it wasn't necessary even if it was a boy it could sit in a pink chair:eek:

Here's a question for those ladies who already have a girl would you reuse any pink stuff or girly toys for your new LO if it's a boy?
DH says to reuse pink sleepsuits:eek:as no-one would see him in bed (I don't know what it is yet as I'm 18 weeks)

There's nothing wrong with reusing the sleepsuits, the only thing is that when mine were little they pretty much lived in sleepsuits, it wasn't just at night when they were worn. So you could use that as an argument :)

Just seen this over on hukd, bargain if you have the car seat

  • Hope you hear some news on your Dad soon RBG :) (My Dad had meningitis a couple of years ago, and nobody rang me until after they knew what was happening because they didn't want to worry me... I don't know if that was better or worse than knowing and worrying...)

Thanks Krystal and Fuzz I don't know if I am glad mum phoned me or not....she gets worked up then I have to calm her which is fine normally but I have my hubby moaning then that I shouldn't be getting stressed....I'm well aware of this point but at the same time I am the only person who can actually calm mother down :S getting worked up again now...going to go have a cry then maybe phone the hospital myself see if they will tell me anything...haven't heard anything for nearly 2 hours but I suppose no news is good news xxxx

Personally I would and if I was finding out the sex I would probably spend my maternity leave experimenting with clothing dyes of the appropriate colour:D

I said that, his reply was if we're staying in or your changing him for bed use pink, if we're going out blue, it just seems a step too far for me we're not broke. I wasn't bothered what I had but a girl would be easier in light of DH's scrougyness.

I can see his first birthday, his sisters secondhand dolls wrapped up!

I am definately finding out and even if it's shy at the 20 week scan I have another at 24,28,32,36 and 39.

Great idea! I'm thinking a navy dye would give me a dark purpley blue, any other dye colour suggestions?

11:01 DM, what about you? lol

I've got a pile of neutral stuff from last time that would do for the first 3 months... And I'm assuming after that I'd have aquired plenty of blue things... But I would use pink ones too probably... Probably not all the time, but maybe in an emergency... or during a tummy bug or something... My little brother came after 3 girls and spent his first 6 months in pink babygros... He's very masculine now though :rotfl:
Ooooo everytime I wee I do little rabbit poo's:o Yay:j
Amazing what excites a pregnant woman isn't it ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

any variations of red would be good..depends how deep the pink is on some of the baby grows as to what will cover it :)

  • Hi, sorry to butt in :)
Do you know anyone who's expecting twins in the next 3 months? BB is looking for a volunteer to test a £900 travel system.

Man on the Moon. You could pm him?

Anyone know how easy it is to get signed off with stress? And whether it's worth it if there's no one covering your job while you're off - meaning all this work will still be here when I get back?

Its really easy. The only thing is it may only be two weeks at a time to begin with.

But...if its a career as opposed to a job, think carefully whether you are happy to cope with any possible consequences of this (e.g. going for a new job you really want and having to disclose this on your medical forms). Sorry to be boring.

GFH - How are you honey? You're 18 weeks tomorrow :) Have you had your MW appt yet?

Been to see M/W (16 week appt :o) and all is well, I'm really lucky. Heard a heartbeat, but babe was playing DODGE THE DOPPLER.
    How are you??
I'm also pleased as despite a pretty high BMI they have said m/w care only/home birth/no messing which is fab and just what I wanted.

HM Glad you are feeling a bit better, it is scary, is this number one for you?
Just think of all the clever things your body is doing, its a real miracle, and we women can do it, and still do all the other things we do:T:T:T:T:T:T

jojo did you ask about GTT? They can prob do it at the doc surgery.

Driving tests...passed first time at 17 and 4 months. First up examiner had to tell me how to get out of my parking space (I'd been blocked in) then I basically figured I'd failed and just went on to enjoy it.
I also pulled out in front of someone, but redeemed this by saying immediately that I had made a mistake in pulling out and should have waited.
So if you make a mistake, say what you should have done differently, don't think the examiner won't spot it.

This was back along, though, I didn't even do GCSEs, but O levels:rotfl:
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

Tigtag/Ladylegs - looks like I'll have to wait and see where they want to jab me for my anti-D then. Re the shot after birth, any idea how would this all be arranged if I wanted a home birth? Will definitely need to ask the MW if this is still possible.

DueMarch11 - as a bit of useless trivia the position of the placenta depends on where the egg implanted in the uterus after conception. Anterior just means at the front and nothing to worry about. Mine is anterior high - it can mean you feel less movement until later on. I'm now 28 weeks and my LO is jumping about all over the place so god knows what it would be like without that cushiony placenta out there in front!
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.
