I'll live just not very happy. I'm not 23 weeks until tuesday and if this is the pain i'm in what will I be like come christmas at 33 weeks or my birthday at 36 weeks or full term????? Seriously I am not happy. I live in a flat which is up stairs obviously and its all my effort to potter about in here getting out is getting harder and harder. Yep I have OH off work fo rthe next week so he can do nursery run with DD1 but after that I will be on my own :( My sick cert from work is up today and i'm supposed to be on annual leave tomorrow for 2 weeks but I think i will be asking dr for another cert. I am so so so not happy. Other things like we are househunting, I am barely mobile enoough to walk to the toilet never mind around a strangers house.

Yes I am having a pity party

Thanks GFH but realistically my actual pelvis is twisting so as baby grows it will only get worse :(

DH has been doing a lovely job putting the roof on the shed today. Alas his brain deserted him when he was washing his hands. Earlier we used nail varnish remover and cotton wool to wipe off the worst of the black gunk from his hands, which took a fair amount of effort to be honest. Left to himself he thinks that he can use it like a soap for a quick lather and rinse and then dry his hands on a lovely purple towel. It's now going round the washing machine in the hopes that the marks will come out. His hands are still black, and he may or may not be in the doghouse.

At least he has slightly more sense that my hubby who decided to put a new roof on the shed in the height of Summer when the black gunk was running everywhere.......and in his Clarks leather slippers !! The footprints are still all over the roof and only now just starting to fade and as for the slippers they ended up in the bin !! It's not because he is young and stupid either he is 55 so sense does n't come with age !

Evening ladies, this weekend has been hectic for me so not posted. Will be doing a mammoth one now though.

I've been reading all the posts but too much to reply to so what I remember is:

Sorry to hear you're having OH issues hngrymummy and lilac, mine is sat here currently hypnotised by a shopping channel selling crayons....go figure..! Sorry to hear you're in pain too lilac, is there anything you can do?

RBG - glad to hear you're feeling better, hope you made it out today, are you going in work tomorrow?

    Welcome Jen

Well things have been manic here. If you're interested I will indulge myself with a me me me post :)

Went shopping to Bury yesterday with my mum, went to ASDA and got TT grooming kit for £5, CTN newborn feeding kit for £5, TT steraliser for £10, bottle brush and comforters - abiout £20 in total. Very impressed with that.
Treated myself to a new dress from Primarni, jumper dress for me to grow into. Also got lots of scrummy food (including black pudding...nom nom) from the market.

Best friends came round last night for dinner and announced they are 7 weeks PG. i am sooooo happy, the fella is OH's best friend and me and his GF have become really close. I kept mithering her to get PG with me so I wouldn't be doinbg it all on my own with no idea they were even considering it. Apparently us getting PG have given them the kick up the jacksie they needed and it happened first attempt for them (much to her OH's disapointment, ha ha). I am so happy, it means I have someone in RL to go through it all with too. There will be 8 weeks between our two. They are the couple that we always go on holiday with and so we are already talking about getting somewhere sorted for next year, that may have been the giddiness getting away with us tho :).

This morning finally managed to persuada OH to clear out the cellar so he can put all his carp from the spare room (nursery) in there. took three trips to the tip and it is still only half done but at least he has made a start.
Called at Tesco on way back from the tip and bagged a cute sleep suit for £2 and a lovely 5 piece disney baby set for £5 (thanks to whoever tipped us off about the Tesco sale)

Came home and made a lovely lunch out of the goodies from the market yesterday and promptly ended up on the loo for an hour with severe diawoowoo :(. I just cannot stomach rich fancy food at the mo :(.

Then (if you're still reading), mum emailed me a link to the cot bed that we want from mamas and papas being sold on ebay for just £70 so have bagged that too.

So all in all, a very productive baby preparing weekend. ooh, and got myself a lovely bag (for the hospital) for £25 down to a £5. Pink hearts print - very girlie.!

Glad of all the talk of breastpads, maternity pads, nipple cream on here (what a glam bunch we are :)). I've not got on that route yet so have made notes for when I do. Giz - thanks for the link too :)

Hope you all are having a lovely sunday. X factor later...woo hoo...!

Hi Lilac. I was really uncomfortable and in pain, finding it hard to walk for a few weeks around 25 weeks. Then one morning I woke up and the baby had obviously moved and I have felt pretty great since. I'm now 36 weeks and walked 2 miles around the local park the other day (although I had to go straight to the chippy after:rotfl:).

    Welcome Jenapples.

My nephew made me a card this weekend that said "I hope your baby gets out well" and drew a picture of me, OH and a baby on it. It was so cute (well it was a bit weird that he drew boobs on me and he is 6, but at least I knew which one was supposed to be me!)

Oh well haven't missed too much, as don't intend to use sposies. What's in the second pack? Unfortunately if you can't get the first pack from your MW you lose out as Bounty won't send it directly.
Can't remember exactly...I think 1 pampers nappy, a tiny pot of sudocrem, nipple cream sample and possibly 2 breast pads. Don't think there were any useful vouchers in this one. I get the impression that the hospital bounty bags are better, there's one for mum and one for the newborn. I'll ask my colleague tomorrow whose wife had a baby recently.

Lilac - I know how you feel when I first got SPD symptoms I got very pessimistic about how long I had left to go and how much worse it might get. I'm still waiting for my physio appointment, but I'm feeling a bit more positive if not in any less pain, as it doesn't seem to have got any worse. Although I am trying to take it easy too, anything that is more than a 5 minute walk at a time is out. The website Pelvic Partnership is a good one for self-help tips.

Maternity towels....they're huge! I've only got one pack of 'proper' maternity towels, the rest are always nighttime ones which look like they'll do the job, bigger than normal towels but not as ginormous as maternity ones;)

I have one pack of maternity pads from asda, then I'll switch to always night pads as well.

Thought I'd mention something my midwife at antenatal class said:
Always Nighttime pads have a lot of gel in them (so super super absorbant - great for normal periods then) - however, if you need stitches down there following episiotomy/natural tearing, the dryness and plasticky nature of Always can interfere with the stitches which may irritate down there. She recommended Kotex but also any maternity towel as these are purposefully made softer with more natural materials and less chemicals. But if you haven't got stitches, I'm sure that they would be okay...

Fuzz I want to call him Ben, I really love that name bud sadly my ex was a Ben and OH just can't get over that.

Nice name but I'm biased as my OH is a Ben.(His mum was a fan of The Graduate.)

No stirrings yet. This baby is too comfy in there.:)
