Will I need them from the first day of breastfeeding though? Should I get a pack?

Sorry baby number one, so one of the more experienced ladies will have to answer this. I was told that when you feed the other breast can leak, so I've put a pack of breast pads in my hospital bag. Can one of the other girls tell me if they will be needed? I was lying in bed last night wondering if I should get some more. How many packs are you likely to get through in the first 2 weeks? The nearest shop to my house is 25 mins drive and would rather stock up.
  • Just popping over to ask you helpful lot if I am OK to have fresh pineapple at 11+3? :o

Are you on team pink? I had cravings for pineapple with both my girls, and chomped loads of it.

Do I need to buy some breastpads before baby is born?

Can't hurt. Some people leak loads and some not/hardly at all.

    Morning all. Peerless day here.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

Im very proud that so far I have managed to stave off any stretchies, but am more than aware that there is still plenty of time for them to make an appearance!

Just a question to those who have done this before. I'm 36 wks and feel lots of movement normally. Yesterday it was beyond a joke. The baby's head has been down from a least the 28 wk scan and I can usually feel the bum on my left side and kicks on my right side. Yesterday I could feel what felt like the bum on my far left moving all the way across the front of my stomach to the right side and back for about 4 hours and kicks on both sides. The movements have never hurt until yesterday (not very painful, just not nice). DH thinks maybe its just that the baby has had a growth spurt and is so big that I can feel movements much more, but I'm concerned that maybe it may have moved and might not be head down now. I don't have another scan before my due date to check though. Does a baby usually move so much at this point?

    Hi CL

I am at the exact same point as you, and the exact same stuff happens to me too :o

I have been *lucky* enough to have extra scans (for growth) and been convinced has has gone breech as DD did, but has not,. I was assured at this point it is very unlikely they will turn if they are now head down.

Please don't panic, your midwife should be able to tell at your next appt :A

Thats exactly what I've been getting since around the same time..totally normal and my bubs has stayed head down..I swear sometimes I think Pumpkin must be dizzy from all the backwards and forwardsing it does:rotfl: Feels odd when you're belly does that triangle shape doesn't it...not painful as such but uncomfortable enough to make you gasp or hold your breath til it's stopped:o if it decides to stay there it gets a good old push from mummy to shift it:)

    morning x

Giz I would get some, doesn't matter if you don't use them till you have the baby but you are bound to start leaking if you have none in. I got through a whole pack before I had DD but didn't even use a third of a pack with DS. I've got some just incase but I think my boobs are gonna take some convincing to breastfeed again this time.

CL I'm not quite so far gone, only 32 weeks but mine does not stop moving all over, he was breech and is now head down but I'm slightly concerned about him turning again, even though it doesn't really matter for me.

Hope that helps....tried to get in every angle I possibly could to get the best light but avoiding the mess:o OH and for those who were discussing nightlights yesterday.....I mentioned it to DH and he dug out our rather old lava lamp...works a treat as a nighlight:D and looks rather cool:cool: don't worry it will be moved from next to the cot before bubba goes in there full time;):)
