Giz I have a very similar carrier to that although different brand and I love it. Alot of people prefer the sling style but with DD she was carried because she cried when lying flat so this type suited her better and I just kept it. I don't think the brand really matters, they are all basically the same style with this type.
Thanks. I just read the reviews and all but one were really good. I think for £7.50 it's not a great loss anyway. Might bite the bullet and get it after work if they still have some and the gate. Trying to get hold of hubby but he never answers his phone

Check the fixings on the gate! some you screw into the wall and others are the tension ones....depends on your preference obviously but would be annoying to get it home and realise it's not the fixing you want:)

Anyone looking for the M&P Harbour cotbed??? Tis £50 on Ebay Argos Clearance website

I think it's the pressure one. But will check. what's the best? I didn't fancy having to put holes in my walls.

Threemutleys huge congrats, do you mind me asking what Medway was like?

honestly? I was worried about going there. Had heard so many horror stories. But without exception, the staff and the care we received was faultless. The mw who delivered Alex was so supportive, was nice and calm and relaxed, was "there" but not intrusive (if you get what I mean)...aftercare was also spot on...loads of support with bf'ing.

so so pleased I went there.

I certainly won't be taking any chances either - DD1 was 8lb 6oz and I think that that would be my cut off point - just won't risk anybody's life! Can still live in hope that this baby will be small though :o and if my sickness and diet had anything to do with it then that should help - with DD2 I ate like a horse and was constantly starving!!

I forsee a few conversations with us and possible sections in the coming few months :rotfl: our due dates are fairly close too aren't they?

Yep i'm due 2 weeks after you 15th Feb. DD1 was 8lb 9 and dd2 was 8lb 3 but she was induced at 37+6 as she apparently hadn't grown in a week and placenta function had tailed off. TBH i do believe that as it was a horrible shade of grey when it arrived, DD on the other hand was fine. Both times i had SPD but it was just sore my pelvis stayed where it should of been so other than walking hurting I was good. I did have pre eclampsia both times though so that was the bigger concern.

This time pelvis is twisting so I worry a larger baby won't be able to fit. Also I know people whp have had MIL as a midwife and they say she is really good, calm laid back and knows her stuff. She seems very well respected by the staff in Ninewells and she has read my notes plus was on duty when DD1 and 2 were born and it was her who spotted I was heamorraging after 1st birth and just jumped into work mode from i'm a granny for the first time mode. I keep thinking If she says go for a section when normally she is very pro vaginal birth and is quite happy to do a VBAC if thats what the mum wants when some MW's don't agree then there is obviously a very very good reason for it.

The thought of an epidural makes me feel sick though. its the whole needle in the spine thing. The sunroof removal doesn't bother me so much as the epi. its the epidural and numb legs that bother me. Oh and surgical stockings

Catwoman - hope you don't get my MIL as a delivery MW as she is in labour suite not the MW led bit so if you get her there has been a complication :p

Giz - good price for gate and pump, I am not keen on that style of carrier, I prefer a sling/pouch.

Shazza personally I would wait for the next one.

Just been to asda and this baby carrier is £7.50:

Any opinions? I know OH wants a M&P one, but it's not very MSE. Wondered if anyone has one....

DH randomly came home with one of these last week. I wasn't going to bother with a sling but apparently he has been imagining himself carrying the baby around in one when he's walking the dogs etc :D. He hasn't shown much interest in all the baby bits and pieces so far so it came as a bit of a surprise tbh...turns out he has his own secret trips to the asda baby event :rotfl:. Anyway obviously we haven't used it yet but seems pretty good quality for the price.

Is there anyway a baby can be born feet-first then, or is that really dangerous.
It's perfectly possible to deliver a breech baby as long as it doesn't had 1 or both of it's feet by it's head... Where they are feet down it's OK... But you would really have to fight to get a chance to do it with an NHS hospital... I used to know someone who travelled from Scotland to down south on an over night train in labour with a breech baby because her consultant gave her 2 options... A planned CS... Or an emergency CS.... She found an independant midwife who delivered him perfectly naturally :)

Also the Lindam stair gate was £7.50. Wondered if I should snap one up, although I'm not sure of the width of my stairs. You would think they are pretty standard size?
For that price you might as well, they're all pretty much the same really... You have more of a choice in slings... But they're rarely £7.50!

Also, the gates in the baby event I saw are the ones you screw to the wall and they're adjustable sizes... I've never had a problem fitting any gates to my stairs either though so they're probably all near enough the same...

Our Asda sell the baby event stock all year round so they don't half the prices at the end, which is a shame... Someone said they had the travel cots for £12.50 in some Asdas... Not ours though :(
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Good Afternoon Ladies,

I'm just going for a read back now, but just quickly wanted to ask if anyone comes across a cotbed on their search to please let me know. I'm having quite a drama finding a ivory/off white/cream colour cotbed, preferable with a beech coloured wood on the top!! I'm trying to find the cotbed to match existing funiture that we already have!

    Thanks ladies :)
