  • What are you ladies doing for lighting in the nursery? I don't want to be having the big light on if I have to go in during the night for feeding, are you just having a low wattage bedside lamp or fancy night light (does that shed enough light).
Not something I need to worry about yet but something that's not on my list.

We are getting the whole nursery get up given to us by hubby's best friend and it includes a nightlight they used and he says it always gave them enough light to go in and check on bubs and then give him a feed if it was required but not enough light to change a nappy etc so I think I might be doing a bedside lamp for nappy changes...will have a look at the weekend when we are down there to tell you the make of it if you like Dusty

Get out there and have some fun...can't wait until I can get out for dinner again...need to treat hubby coz he is putting up with a lot from me atm :S

We already have a plain canvas lamp which will be fine once I've put a new(low watt) bulb in it:) can stay on all night if needs be:)

I would kill for filing to do! After two and a half months here I think it's the most organised construction site in the world- everything is filed, with registers, copied to a remote server... I've even gone through spellchecking documents from 18 months ago...
Sounds like my job :) I'm at a planners so probs have about the same workload as you do! It took me 6weeks to implement & train these numpties on the new systems and hey presto..I did myself out of a job so for the past 18months I've been sat here talking about TTC and now actual babies..will be nice to be at home and actually have something to do:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks RBG - that would be fab. i was just thinking of a bedside lamp with a 25 watt bulb, it has to be bright enough so I don't stump my toe but dim enough not to disturb bubs too much.
the night lights i've seen are ssoooo expensive.

Yes Fuzz - Cheshire prices will be mega, but I will see what I like then get the cheapo versions from ASDA :). However, I will act like I can afford stuff while in the shop and rub my belly in an obvious I'm PG not a weirdo kind of way. Luckily i'm wearing the dress that everyone sayd I look PG in tonight so should show my little bump. May treat myself to a nice piece of mat clothing though from John Lewis if I see something, feel like I haven't had a treat for ages. :)

I've kept the lampshade OH and I had in our room for two years before we got so frustrated with not being able to see anything we ripped it down and made do with the bare bulb :rotfl::rotfl:

Dusty, we have dimmer switches and a couple of those plug in nightlights to stop me tripping over during my many nightime loo visits :o. Will prob just see how we get on with that and add a lamp later if needed.

Edit: think the nightlights were ~ £15 in B&Q for a pack of 2

So - what do you ladies make of a blood pressure reading of 120/40 :/

The 120 is fine but 40 for the second number is very low, do you get dizzy alot? What did the midwife say? My lowest reading was 90/50 and I was regularly dizzy, feel funny etc but never past out or anything. Its gone up to a more normal level now. They don't seem to worry at all about low blood pressure but can give advice on things to do, like making sure you are drinking enough, laying down with your feet raised slightly so the blood goes back easier etc

A street light 5ft away from the nursery window should give me enough light...
