Right question for you all to ponder...

I was given a gift voucher for my birthday back in February collegues for a spa, it can be used for any type of treatment etc - there is a whole range of things available. I didn't have time to use it before finding out I was pg, and you can't usually have treatments before 12 weeks so I put off. The voucher will expire at the beginning of Feb - I'm due the beginning of Dec. I'm not sure whether to go before I have the baby for a special relaxation - there are treatments suitable for pregnancy. Or should I wait and have treatment after the birth, it would be January and I think they'll probably be busy, I also think I might not want to leave the baby too long...

    What would you do???

If you can use it for a number of items why don't you go for a nice massage, a manicure and a pedicure.....dependent on how much you got on the voucher that is too though lol.....there are some massages that can only be done in the 2nd tri (I only know this coz hubby was going to treat me to a treatment a few weeks ago then he totally forgot lol

Edited to include Congrats to Teenie so clear!!!!

catwoman I would go before you have the baby. My OH got me a pamper day for my bday and I had a facial, manicure etc and felt fantastic after. I did not realise how carp I was feeling cos I looked pants now I want to at least get another manicure before the baby is born. Afterwards I agree it would be hard to leave the baby when its so young and actually relax. probably too tired to fully enjoy it too.

Talk about preggo brain. I went to pay for groceries in Asda and opened my purse and had no debit card. I had to leave the groceries behind and try to work out where my card might be. I remembered that the last place I had it was in Sainsbury's the day before and called them. I had left it in the little keypad at the self scan till. What a stupid thing to do! Can I put that down to being pregnant please?

I did the antenatal/pastnatal massage at the sunflower rooms plus nails etc when DD2 was 5 weeks old. It might sound a bit off but it gave OH time alone with girls and the break was fantastic.

:rotfl:I sound like mother from hell.

Congrats to teenie and nic, nice clear piccies. Tink yay for then at least listening to you

I'm bored and trying to work out why I can't sit in certain positions as it hurts:( and no it's not piles!:p:rotfl: Think it's bubba in an awkward position...worse after I've just been to the loo:o I get a strange period pain type ache and then can't sit properly!! Anyone have a clue what it could be??

    TMI moment

Have you had any luck with this? I am only 20 weeks and have been waking up every morning for the last week with strong Period/IBS style cramp pains, then needing to evacuate bowels but not diawoowoo. I have had sore tummy muscles all day every day since this started. my mum suggested Braxton hicks but I didnt have this with DD and it doesnt come and go its pretty much constant and uncomfortable. Spoke to GP, she just said stretching and bubs in odd position..... but bubs is tiny at the moment so dont see how that works out. Hohum.

    Loving the scan pics!

I had something similar, waking up with terrible stomach pains and needing to go to the loo. It was like really painful trapped wind. It lasted from about 20 - 30 weeks then stopped. I've been taking Rennie Deflatine before bed for the last while though. It seems to help a bit.

Teenie and Nic, your scan pics are near identical!

Catwoman, I can't see them bring that busy in jan? It is prob their quiest time. Everyone skint and no one goes out so no need to look glam, plus they'll prob have some good offers then to get people in so you might get more for your money. Just a thought.... Xx

The 120 is fine but 40 for the second number is very low, do you get dizzy alot? What did the midwife say? My lowest reading was 90/50 and I was regularly dizzy, feel funny etc but never past out or anything. Its gone up to a more normal level now. They don't seem to worry at all about low blood pressure but can give advice on things to do, like making sure you are drinking enough, laying down with your feet raised slightly so the blood goes back easier etc

    Thanks Merfe :D

Madwife didnt say a word - I noticed it when I looked at my notes later and wondered whether I should be unconscious or at least riding the metaphorical waltzer but I feel just fine :p

She wasnt my regular MW and quite frankly I didnt like her - hopefully my normal one will be back next week and I can discuss it with her!

OH wants to go buy a BP monitor - god love him

Thanks to all for the nightlight convo - think I will invest in the £15 ones from B&Q.

fuzz - how long does the pain last?

    xx
