Thanks. I have done some research on this and it seems that bank hols are a very grey area. And basicaly it comes down to the fact that you are on leave and being paid smp and that for most employers this means that you DO NOT get extra days for bank hols when on mat leave. I have heard that some companies give them as extra but my holiday is 15 days ( i work 3 days a week so 5 weeks a year) and I just get 15 days leave or 5 weeks to take at the end of my maternity leave as paid holiday. I can carry over a max on 1 week into 2012.
Ah sorry, I hadn't realised you were part time.
These three points however seem to point to the fact that you should actually be getting 16.8 days?- part-time workers are entitled to the same level of holiday pro rata (so 5.6 times your usual working week, eg 22.4 days for someone working four days a week)
- bank and public holidays can be included in your minimum entitlement
- you continue to be entitled to your holiday leave throughout your ordinary and additional maternity leave and paternity and adoption leave

Becareful with Bank Hols as I am NOT getting mine on top of my holiday allowance. It is not a set rule that you have to be given extra days for Bank Hols. Only your annual leave.
Also a point to note is that the last part of the 52 weeks leave that is unpaid means that if your employer pays your pension that they are not liable to make your contributions for the unpaid part of your leave. I have just found this out after a meeting with my boss
If you would normally have the bank holidays off work and paid then you do accrue these alongside your normal annual leave - 28 total days is also the statutory minimum.
39 weeks of the 52 are paid (as long as you qualify) and the remaining 13 are not - these are all statutory requirements.
You are correct about the pension xx:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -

I've just been signed off work for a fortnight with severe SPD, not sure if I'll be going back at all the way I'm feeling at the moment.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

This is my first new threadYay!!
There has been lots to catch up on today, im hoping for a waterbirth as well if i can get a pool in hospital, i think there are 2 in my hospital, but i havent been able to go in and see as MW was meant to book me in for a hospital tour and didnt... and now the only date they can offer me is the day after me due date (can hardly walk on crutches at the momnet, so cant imagine i will be up for doing a hospital tour the day after my due date!!) my MW has been rubbish!!Baby No.1 due 27/9/10

I was looking online and can't believe how expensive it is to hire a pool for home use rather than to just buy one yourself! Its a bit of a rip off really. I saw £300 for a month/five weeks rental as opposed to £100 to buy one on a "buy it now" from ebay, unless you buy a second hand one of courseBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

my word, I fall asleep on the sofa for 30 mins and you ladies are already on page 3!! :rotfl:
God I needed that sleep. I slept from 11pm-1.30am then 4.30am-7.30am this morning. So annoying and I don't know why I just can't sleep at that time. It happened the morning before. I just hope it doesn't mean that she's getting ready to make an appearance at that time.
Smartie, good luck tomorrow. And yeah I made the new thread as the last one I made was back in April so that was 4 months ago and I doubt I'll be here in 4 months so just incase. We didn't want it getting to 10,000 pages :rotfl:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Ouch for the pool itself i paid £89 brand new its the bits and bobs required to fill and empty it that push the costs up and also the liners are a bit pricey at £25 a pop but you get one with the pool when you buy it and i bought a spare at the time so i could use the pool before the birth to relax in (not that i have as im paranoid about popping it lol) but even with all the extras its no where near £300 plus you can sell it on after to recoup some money :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
have just found some cheaper ones for about £60/£100 to hire but the pool looks like about the same size as a bathtub a bit. I might as well sit in the bath lol! I have told my OH that if it looks like this baby is going to make a rather rapid appearance then I want him to run me a deep bath and I will just get in itBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

hello all, nice to see a new thread....I stopped visiting the other one because I couldn't keep up and never knew what was going on!
I'm now 28+6 and have yet to buy anything.....I have some clothes left over from DD and was given a load more by my husband's grandmother, but we haven't bought anything ourselves yet. I was thinkng of buying the my child versa travel system, but can't find any reviews for it. Has anyone bought/ever bought this travel system before? here's a link......
cheers!:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0 -
i am known for quick labour from the previous 2 and MW thinks i should have a homebirth because of this. I am coming round to her way of thinking but OH is saying if he is at home when it starts we are going to the hospital, but if not i can do what i like.
The discussion on waterbirth is sounding good as if i do have a fast labour then pain releif is out of the question and MW very unkeen on anything other than gas and air which i can not stand from previous tries. I am also looking at hypno birthing as my body does just relax and get on with it but thats got something to do with the pethadine on both occassions!
OH is anoying me at the moment. We won a car on ebay on friday and although he looked at all of the details it is obviously my fault that it is not in great shape now we have got it home. He is very much into cars etc and races them so knows how they work. Why on earth would he listen to me (someone who barely knows how to check the oil on a car let alone anything else. I like the colour and thats my opinion!) but hey its my fault. I even have texts messages saying bid up to xxx pounds as it sounds really good from him!
