all new and shiny thread. I will have to try and keep up more on this one. Although I do lurk every day - just never seem to get up the nerve to say anything. Am such a chicken!!
Me too :o But I'm feeling like I don't fit in the <12 week thread now. Time to leave them talking about throwing up and chip in with some advice if I can help now and again.

Lilian - My mat leave will start on 4th Jan...so I guess I won't have my bank hols or holidays either. It never occurred to me that we're still entitled...or is it just a thing up to the company you work for?

"You will build up all your entitlements to paid holiday through all of your Statutory Maternity Leave. This is even if your contract says you are entitled to more than the statutory minimum.

You can add holiday to the beginning or end of your Statutory Maternity Leave. You may not be able to carry over untaken holiday entitlement if your Statutory Maternity Leave goes over two holiday years. It is often best to take this at the beginning of your leave."

Basically, your employment rights (like holidays and pension contributions) are all protected, apart from your wage. So yes, you should be entitled to them. You will also get paid for 28 days holiday minimum, depending on how many you get normally. I get 25 so the 7 BHs I'm missing are being added on, but your employer only has to pay you for 28 even if you have 28 days holiday. I have checked and as there isn't enough time to take my holidays at the start of my leave, they have to roll them over for me :D

clothes are thanks to my sister having a boy 4yrs ago and being the first grandchild/nephew he got a little spoilt!! - he has 6 aunts/uncles as well!! 2 of my brothers have gone onto have boys but my mum and sister didnt trust their/or girlfriends washing skills to let them borrow the clothes whereas I am much more fussy than even my mum and sister (my mum irons everything as well) so have borrowed all the clothes and when see them at xmas will give them back whats been outgrown and they apparently have more!!

Some shops newborn is upto 7.5lb and that is some shops early baby i just go on weight.

Think I am also going to try and post more often, I do check everyday but there is always so much info I forget to reply LOL.

Can someone tell me what TMI and SPD stand for? (Sorry!).

Im officially 27 weeks on Thursday so very excited, although my bump is still small, and I regularly get asked if I am 4 months or so! Also no seat on the trains, south eastern commuters are very selfish!

I am also hoping to have a waterbirth :j

Giz - never fear. if I've learned anything from so much lurking (over a year) then even if you were still throwing up you'd still be more than welcome over on this thread as wel as the other! I managed to get rid of my nausea for a few weeks but its back again. Boo!!

I have decided that while I am eternally grateful to have the chance to be a mum (especially after our last year) I don't think I was designed to enjoy pregnancy - at least not this one. But its worth it for the chance to hold my own child in my arms!

TMI is Too Much Information, and SPD is Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction.
