    hi all

my little munchkin is asleep on me so thought i'd check in on you all! We are doing pretty well although i am struggling on and off with the bfing. my breasts are so massive and we often don't get a good latch. this morning i realised after 15 mins that his tongue was above not below my nipple so he'd not been swallowing. i was heartbroken :( my mum is now here til sat so hoping she can help - she's currently cleaning. waiting for health visitor who is lovely and will weigh him. i'm still pretty emotional from the birth and first night scare but sure that's normal. meeting sir monster tomorrow we've been texting a lot to support each other.

i'm loving being a mum though and totally besotted by my son!!!

rach - I'm also bf-ing and finding it hard. My boobs have gone from 36B to 38E, so did struggle to get him to latch sometimes, but just keep perservering!! I've started to see the benefits as he's putting on weight nicely.

    Hi All
Just popping on to say Olivia Ann was born on the 6/10/10 at 7:11pm weighing 8lb 13oz - she is perfect.
I am unlikely to be able to post a birth story as things were very complicated especially following the birth and im having huge issues re-living it. But my beautiful princess is here and we are home now with daddy and doing well. :j

I will catch up when i can, hope all is going well for everyone else. :)

Gems81 - Congratulations, sorry to hear it was stressful but at least you're all here safe and sound and can now enjoy spending time with your princess xxx

Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well. Lucas is now 12 days old, I lost the plot on Sun and couldn't stop crying as we'd had a bad night, but he's getting better and actually slept in his own crib last night and only woke every 4 hours to feed, so I managed to get some kip! Have to say he's actually a pretty chilled baby all in all, just wants lots of cuddles all the time, which Daddy and I are happy to provide!!!

Labour vibes and best wishes to all xxx

Back from midwife, she doesn't think I need another GTT and that maybe I just have big babies but she has booked it for me anyway and said if this one comes back normal and they say to have another tell them no. There was no sugar in my urine so that is good. I've done the odd finger !!!!! test at work too and they have been fine so I think I might have got away with it this time. She also said that although he was measuring a couple of weeks ahead with the tape measure he doesn't feel quite that big, not worryingly so. He has turned as well and is head down, I'm not surprised the amount of wiggling he has done but also where I feel kicks/punches has changed too, she did say it didn't really matter though with me having a c-section.

She did go through the breastfeeding benefits etc and gave a bit of advice, I know some things of what to expect already. She did say I have to tell them I want to breastfeed and have given up too quickly in the past to try and get a bit more support this time. I'll not see midwife again till i'm 36 weeks now.
  • Self pity alert, feel free to ignore...

Feel rubbish today. Sick, light-headed, tired, and sproglet is making me uncomfortable.

Stuck at work till 5pm now

    Should've stayed home

    :(

I'm quite happy for you to queue jump emsy! (Sorry Fuzz :o) Just realised I'm now 6th on the non-bold list  To be honest, I'm ready for baby to arrive, but there are other things that need to be sorted in the house. For instance, my Mum is coming down after the birth, but we currently have no bed for her to sleep in. I ordered one from Argos which was showing as 5 weeks for delivery (ordered it 4 weeks ago). Their website now shows it as completely out of stock so I called yesterday to see if it we're actually going to get it on time and was told we are still due our delivery by the time the 5 weeks is up and looks like they just aren't taking any new orders for them. Still not had any news on just when it will arrive though and don't really want the stress of having to find a new bed at short notice with a newborn to look after.

Last bits of baby washing are in the machine now. I just need to move one of the chairs out of the conservatory up to the nursery and then that's all sorted.

    Congratulations on the new arrivals.

If anyone wants to add me on FB, this is me (hopefully). Just let me know who you are on here. I think most of the people I added from here previously have popped now and I do love a good baby announcement :D

Big Bird you sounds like you are sorting last minute bits like I am. I remember thinking at about 20 weeks that I could do some of it now, but thought I might need something to keep me busy near the end :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What a load of tosh. Those in 2nd trimester reading this........do it now :T
