  • Am i the only one who thought 'Faylix, Gaylix'?!?!:o:rotfl: IF you ever came back here while the child was at shool and it was pronounced that way I have a feeling thats what they'll be called:o:o

    :rotfl::rotfl:

Another one he liked was Cas (Kaz???!!!!)

I was telling a Dutch friend about our dilemma and she suggested (as a short, easy to pronounce(?) Dutch name: Koen (yes, think old fashioned racist term!!)

We've got a long way to go.......

    morning all x

good luck finding a name spaghetti sounds like you have loads of choices lol.

DS is staying home today, he hasn't stopped coughing this morning and his temp is still raised, now I just need to decide if I bother taking DD or get the mum that walks past to take her for me and save me dragging DS to school to drop her off. Yep think I'll ask the mum, or do I just keep her off too, she has been coughing a little bit but not been snotty or had a temp like DS. OH was ill all weekend too and moaning about it, I'm just glad I don't seem to have got it but I was so tired last week I could barely stay awake so maybe I just had it mild.

Labour vibes to all those in need and congrats to those that have had their babies - let us know who you are xx

    Morning all.

Well, I may now be stuck in for 2 days - waiting for our pram to be delivered from Boots but they've kindly given us a delivery slot of "by 12th October 8am-9pm". The DHL page isn't any help - going to wait till 9am when it should have been put Out For Delivery if it's coming today then just go into work late I think.

Whoa, this thread moves fast when you look the other way!

I've had no sleep all weekend due to indigestion and restless legs/fidgety knees- I tried sleeping upright last night in the hope it might be better, but that just added an aching back and crick in the neck to my morning woes. *Sigh*.

And the internet's broken for no apparent reason, so I have two moaning 5"6 babies on my hands. (OH and brother).

Settled on a pram though- the Mama's and Papa's Sola with carrycot. Only another 3million decisions to go!

Bashful (Baby Ash) is unperturbed by all and is still having a near constant carnival inside me! :j

So pleased other people are having the international baby name problem (sorry, but misery loves company!). OH is insisting on a traditional Albanian name for Bash and they're so different to anything over here it's difficult to even contribute. Plus he has over 80 first cousins and it's a family insult to repeat a name, so any names I do find he has to check off with his Mother to see if there's anyone with a matching name and surname (no, he can't do it himself, he only knows about half their names:eek:)

So far we have Yllber (but apparently I pronounce it with only one 'l') and Arion- but he's already going off that. I vetoed Denald and Rinor.

To whoever was asking about name spelling/pronunciation, my name is Amy- you'd think you couldn't get simpler, but there are at least six spellings and more ways of pronouncing than you can shake a stick at. I grew up thinking it must be really rare because I was constantly called Emma or Emily- even when there were three of us in one class!!!

Midwife tomorrow, have to spend today remembering all the questions I've come up with in the last 25 weeks :p

    Hi Ash

Restless legs can be due to dehydration, but that's not helpul really as the more you drink the more you'll be up all night weeing anyway! It can also be to do with a lack of iron so check your bloods again with your midwife tomorrow. My pregnancy yoga teacher also gave us a stretch to relieve it - basically you stretch your legs out, toes pointed, then flex your toes towards you, repeat that a few times. Then rotate your foot a few times, and then in the other direction.

Hope that helps a bit - it really is annoying isn't it?

    Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been online for a while...I have pushed in front of a lot of you and gave birth on Sept 29th 2010 at 10:30pm to a little boy. 8 weeks early, as he couldn't wait! He weighed 3lb 11oz and is in the special care unit at the moment. Doing really well there, has put on some weight and is coming off all the leads etc.

Hopefully we will be able to bring him home within a few weeks, spend most of my day at the hosp, so ill check in when I can.

    H :)

    Morning peeps!
Is that your OH on the sofa? I'm trying to work out how you got pg as his winky look suspiciously like a dogs head:rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

hngrymummy, I'm fascinated by the colours of the names as well, may have to check with you once we decide on something (just out of curiosity!) I was relieved that I like the colours of Emma!

Congratulations on your little boy Hdeusi, glad he is doing well and hope he's soon home :)

Ash, you'll have to let me know how you get on with the Sola, it's currently the one I like best (although I've only just started looking!)

Foreign name dilema doesn't sound good at all - especially not needing to avoid the names of 80 cousins! I found a few that OH didn't immediately hate so thats a start for us, I think we'll concentrate on it more after the next scan when we hopefully find out if bump is a boy or girl!! (I'm too impatient to wait!)

Tink, hope the Clary sage gets things moving - let us know at least by the time I'm due lots of people will have given me ideas of what to try (I suspect this baby will be awkward about coming on time, so would rather have some eviction techniques to use!)

I know that's not everyone but I really lose track! Dusty, I'll have to take a look at the nursery lol, am most amused that we have the same pregnancy clothes.

Had the first annoying people feeling bump experience the other day - I was very bloated and hadn't been to the loo for a few days, so it did look big, really didn't help people rubbing it (friends of OH's family but even still, gurr )

    How about Scarlett?

All those thinking of an Eve/Evie or similar, what about Elise? unusual but not OTT

I like Scarlett but we both carry the ginger gene :rotfl: Not sure if calling a possibly redhead scarlett is a good idea. DD1 is Ellie/Elenor so eve/evie/elise all sounds sort of similar.

We have Charlotte, Scarlett, Jessica, Ava or Catherine.

I like Aoife but chances of it being spelt or pronounced correctly is slim to none. We also need a middle name as both girls have family middle names. DD1 has My middle name which was my Grans name and is also DH's mums middle name and his grans name so seemed approprite. DD2 middle name is one of these that seems to follow down the generations. Catherine was my dads gran and she was a nice onld woman what little i can remember of her, everyone refered to her as Cate though which I did/do like but with the whole katie perry thing i've went off.

DH just hasn't found anything he seems to like its always na, na na
