  • Hugs Lauren x

He's not just having an "arrrghhhhhhhhh BABY" moment is he? Some men can go in to utter panic at the thought of having a baby and react in abnormal ways, which they regret later.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • Now, I've heard you talk about these bump bands before and seen them on the New Look website when you linked the other day, what are they, what do you wear them for? Take pity on a young PG lady with no bl00dy clue about anything....:o
Basically it's a band of jersey(?), stretchy, legging type material that you can put on over your normal clothes to help make them last that bit longer before going all out and buying maternity clothes. I've been really lucky and only put weight on around my stomach so all my normal clothes still fit, so long as I use a bump band to help keep them up;)
When I wasn't so big I double folded them coz they didn't feel so secure but now I don't need to!...also helped me in the middle stages as I was getting used to the weight in the stomach as it's a tiny little bit of added support on my poor tummy muscles:)
I personally think they're fab, but I know they don't work as well for those who put weight on all over as it's not just the stomach you have to accomodate IYSWIM:) hth, also look at ebay...might be cheaper on there!

  • Oh dear, there must of been something in the water/air yesterday re OH's. Mine was also playing up and got all mardy because I pointed out to him I thought he was coming home from snooker earlier than the time he finally rolled in. He's ok this morning though. But big hugs for you Lauren and I can only agree in what the others have said.

JMF congratulations on Baby Lucas, can't wait to see the pictures

Well I'm well and truly fed up of this pelvic/pubic pain now. I thought it was getting better and the exercises I had from the physio where beginning to work and then - bam - I'm back at square one and its getting worse. I now can't walk up the stairs without having a rest on each and every step and I am finding its now effecting my ability to drive too. When I walk I can feel the pubic bone grating and moving about.
I have had the last couple of weeks off work sick to see if rest would settle it down but it doesn't seemed to have helped and I'm due to go back to the doctors on Monday. I am only 22 weeks and when I was diagnosed I did understand that this would get worse but not so soon. I'm usually very active with a 8 year old and a full time job but I now struggle just to get my shoes on. I'm getting frustrated and upset because I am trying so hard carry on as normal but I'm in so much discomfort.

I'm now having to reconsider on what my working options are and the possiblity that I will have to bring my maternity leave forward which has caused a bit of friction between me and OH as he doesn't see why I should finish earlier than first planned.
I will have to make that decision soon as I need to do my letter of intention to finish to my manager very soon.

The only ray of light is that this will get better once the little chap gets here, I've also been to see the liver specialist yesterday and my liver seems to have also gone back to normal but they are testing me for coeliac disease just to make sure that they have checked everything.

Sorry, I just feel so down and low about it all and just feel so useless that I can't do what I want to do. The thing is I want to work, I don't like to be at home and even the thought of having to spend the next 16 weeks like this is making me really upset. Thanks for letting me off load once again.

    Sarah xx

First baby very excited - have 2 step kids also both boys 8 and 11.
worried about the cost of everything as we can just about manage every month after i was made redundant twice in 1 year but luckily am back in employment.
No morning sickness, in maternity jeans already but am going to try and wear my tops as long as possible cause I refuse to pay for expensive maternity clothes!!!

    Welcome Munchkin :)

Congrats JMF - Lucas is one of my names but OH doesn't like it :( And Rach - how wonderful for you to have Leo with you already!

Lauren - hugs to you, and to anyone else I've missed.

Well I'm back from my delayed honeymoon, it was wonderful and I'm now very exhausted! I'm 23 weeks today and I'm starting to think I'll be this tired (or worse) for the next 17-18 weeks :( Not supposed to start ML until 7th Jan but I currently can't see how I can keep going for that long. My bloods came back ok, my iron level was 11.9 which I think is JUST under normal so I will ask for some iron tablets when I see MW on 19th Oct I think. I'm hoping I'm just this tired because of the holiday and that this weekend will sort me out a bit.

Back from MW....BP has gone up again since yesterday

Oh my god, it's October:eek:! Dark evenings and 4 weeks til Halloween babies are due. feiertag-smiley-017.gif Trick or Sweep?:rotfl:

Sorry to hear that the menfolk are irritating a few of you - could this be some sort of last ditch freaky boy behaviour before the reality and responsibility of fatherhood takes hold? Or am I being too kind:p

I went on a tour of the hospital last night and it is amazing:j:jIt had 3 birthing pool rooms with these sturdy bouncy castle-esque pools. I wanted to jump in then and there and play!!:D
This unit was only opened last year and looks very posh - all ensuite rooms. Nothing scary about it at all and staff were friendly and looked like they enjoy working there.

Heartily recommend a tour...best see what you're in for if it is your first.
