Bunny - you poor thing. I am now very scared!!! Always had a fear of childbirth which is why I've left it so late in life to do this
I have a very low pain threshold so I know I'll just be begging for any drug that will ease my pain!
Congrats anyway - she's gorgeous. Mine will have a middle name of Violet if its a girl after my nan x0 -
Rach - yes it is, I've typed in the wrong measurements onto the design, the box is the right size though! And funnily enough, I just remembered we have to move the futon from the loft bedroom in here so the spare double bed can come out of the nursery, so I've added that in now. I've updated my post with the correct version. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I encountered quite a few of my fears that day.
Labour, I'm an absolute wimp to pain, but as long as you keep an open mind regarding pain relief, you can cope with it.
Surgery, although I'm a surgical nurse, you can know a little too much.
Someone I worked with seeing me in labour/surgery, obviously due to privacy etc. but it turns out to have really have helped me.
lilac, I just felt like I wasn't getting anywhere pushing, can't describe it, apparently she could be seen but was stuck due to position.
I've been told if I get pregnant again, I'll probably have a GTT (no symptoms this time round other than a big baby) I'll also have growth scans and have the option of an elective section.
the only things that get me down about a section is that I can't drive etc for a fair few weeks and relying on other people more so
In no way do I feel like a bad mum for having an emergency section, Emily is safe and sound, as far as I'm concerned that is the most important thing. One midwife kept saying, don't worry you've tried your best etc, I wasn't worrying, lol0 -
I think it looks good Lillian, but i guess you never know til it's up...my only thought is that if you're using a monitor for the cotbed you'll need somewhere to put it on (i have just been thinking the same about our room!), so you could think about putting the bookcase next to it or something (think ours will go on the wardrobe!
I would show you how ours is set out but have no idea re the design thing!!
Right, I have about 45 mins til I need to leave for church so better get a bath or shower I guess. Have just written 5 thank you cards, so that's one job done!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Bunny - no way would it make you a bad mum, why would anyone even think that?! Sounds like you had a real time of it and the main thing is that you are both safe and well at the end of it. I have a lot of fears too, your story has made me think it is def worth trying the natural route, but to be firm if it is clear nothing is happening. Violet is beautiful, hope you recover quickly and get all the help you need. xxMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Bunny just read your birth story:eek:, just glad everything has had a happy outcome in the end and she is adorable.
Didn't know that there was a seperate thread for the birth stories so I'll be having a read later one.
Sorry ladies but I needed to share - Woke up in a complete flap (my history is that I've had 2 previous late losses), went to loo and noticed my bump had shrunk. I have looked big since about 14 weeks but I put this down to bloating. So I wondered if the shrinkage had something to do with the rough stomach I've had since Friday - still can't pin point it, just stomach cramps, wind and bowels open alot (sorry TMI) but no diahorrea.
So I've come down stairs so DH & DD can have a lie in and baby is doing proper kicks where my whole stomach is rippling and shifting which beforehand I didn't feel too much only the odd flutter so I'm now thinking that its now moved position completely. I'm 19 + 1 today so totally suprised to see it as well as feel it at this stage. Bump is still smaller than it was though.
Sorry to ramble, but needed to get it out.
Big hugs and labour vibes for all those in need this morning, especially Courgette. xVirtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -
Sarahangel - that's great that you're feeling movements - perhaps bump has shrunk due to bloating like you say, or perhaps the skin has tightened up due to the stretching so it's holding everything in better? I don't know really but it sounds like everything is good
I started to feel my proper kicks just before 20 weeks so the timings seem right.
Rach - good point about the monitor, I think the bookcase could be good there - although is it supposed to be near baby's head? If so I'll maybe put the bookcase against the chimney breast and put it on there, or down the side of the cotbed. Sarah, I was feeling quite big and uncomfortable for the last 4 weeks and then a few days ago I woke up with a smaller bump. The baby must have moved as I've got lots of movements and my DH can see my bump move when I'm watching TV. I can now bend comfortably and can dry my legs after a shower, which has been very difficult for the last month. I'm sure everything is OK if you're feeling movements. I'm grateful for it!
Congratulations to Smartie, Bunny and Horse. Sorry if I've left anyone out, this thread moves so fast!
I wonder how Courgette is doing. I've been filling my DH in on her progress every day for the last 2 weeks or so!0 -
Off to pregnancy yoga - wish me luck
There are refreshments at the end so you can meet other mums to be - I'm really nervous about this bit, I'm not very good at meeting new people...was thinking I could make up an excuse to leave but half the reason I'm doing this class is to make friends with mums in the area so I really should make an effort but I'm scared!

Thanks CL & Lilian - I just get so paranoid about the slightest of things!! Just hope the "alien" movement thing continues when DD & DH make an appearance this morning!!
Good luck with your yoga Lilian and I'm sure it will be fine.
Off to make the most of the nice day and put my washing out!!Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110
