I had a confirmation email and have heard nothing, logged into verbaudet and it showed the order & that it'd been confirmed but nothing else and now it's showing as 'processed'! Fingers crossed it'll be delivered on Monday:)

  • Rach, I think I'd find that bin too small- the website says it's only 6 litres which is tiny? Maybe your friend uses more than one at the same time, but I find my 16 litre one is just about the right size, maybe even a bit small with a littleun. I don't think it really matters what bucket you use, as long as it suits you - I think I'd like a square one actually if I could justify buying another one.

Giz, fleece, just cut up any old fleece - I bought a metre of fleece fabric from the market, but I think the really cheap blue blankets from Ikea work well too - I think they're about £1.70, and would make plenty. about 30cm x 10cm is the size I cut mine, which seems to have worked ok, I'm not sure what other people have done. I found that having them a different colour from the nappies makes them easier to sort out after washing, but that's just lazy!

WRT the fleece nappies - they do go a funny shape, and don't stack neatly but they work fine after two years of full time use - they definitely don't look pretty though. I can see how they might scratch a tiny baby (they didn't with Oli, but he's a real chunk), I'm not really that keen on velcro nappies at all, they don't look all that comfortable, and they are too easy for toddlers to undo!

If you wanted to try them (I'm not saying they are the ones to get, I was just answering the question of what I have), Lollipop are one of the companies that have advisers, so it's worth seeing if there is one near you that will lend you a trial pack - mine did, I think it had some different Lollipop ones in (obviously) and also Bambino Mio and Totsbots, and possibly a couple of others, so it was good to compare.

    Good luck Lilian :)

I have an argos set in the girls room, it has a full sized wardrobe with 2 rails in which is handy... But the chest of drawers is quite rickety and the bottom drawer just completely fell apart... It's 5 years old... The cotbed was fine for the 5 years Aimee used it, and when a couple of the fixings broke when I took it apart, I emailed the company that made it and about a week later I got new ones through the post free of charge! :)

Chankani - thanks for the lengthy response :) It's great to get all the info I can. Thanks for the tip on the net, great idea.
About fleece liners...do you just use any fleece? Like a blanket? Or do you get the material from a fabric shop?
I used the fleece blankets from ikea and just cut them up but I think someone on the parent thread went to a fabric shop and bought some fancy patterned stuff... Some people sell them on eBay but it's super easy to just cut your own...

Chakani, the lollipop ones I had were freebies, they came from the council when they had an offer on. :)

Rach, to stop your nappy bucket smelling, just drop a couple of drops of tea tree or lavendar oil in the bottom, it's antibacterial and smells nice :) (and you just reminded me of the horror of building the cotbed... The first time I did it on my own and everytime I tried to move the sides, the spindles dropped out... It nearly went through the window after about the third time putting them back in!!!)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

ah, it's the medium sized one she said, which is 17L... Thanks krystal I've heard tea tree is good and have some in anyway.

Been out for late breakfast/early lunch...DH now sorting the downstairs hallway to try and work out how easily the shoe rack and pushchair will fit in. Cue lots of swearing...why do men make things so difficult?:mad: Wish I'd never asked him to do it, but I can't! I think once baby is here we'll just get used to it, just wish the space was about 2 inches wider as would be a lot easier!

    It's so boiling here!
