I've had something similar for past few weeks - mw asked me if I'd had any mucous discharge/plug and I told her I'd had some that looked like snot - she said it probably was and didn't seem at all concerned. I find I lose more if I've been very active.
This is my 3rd pg and I don't remember having it before and is completely different from the cervical plug I lost with dd 3 days before she was born.

Thank you all - ethelsmum, make it three and lilian - it could be then! :D Hope its not for those who are worried about it coming away too early... sorry for making you worry :o

Have got backache tonight for the first time in ages too.

And had a curry for tea! oops! :p

  • krystal cheers i think il just stick with what i have then!

don i think i read somewhere that you can loose your plug and it can "grow" back, or maybe i have imagined that but im 99% sure ive read it somewhere or someone told me that.

Smartie - woohoo Daisy was on our list too but OH not keen. Glad you are both safe. Most maternity hospitals have councelling for traumatic births so maybe something to consider for the future?

Cat - it is the wellbank house.

as other people said about VBACs.... most of the time the only real reason for a c section after a first one one is cos of a chance of uterine rupture. basically the chance of this happening is around 0.05% or something

some people will always have to have c sections due to other problems, like someone said their cervix wasn't dilating.

but basically, if there's no other problem discuss a vbac! soooooo much better than a repeat section honestly xxx

  • Hi all,

Just wanted to pop on and say I have been lurking everyday but just so busy to try to remember all I wanted to say after I caught up each day! And I'm busy for the next 2 weeks again!

I took my ds (29mths) to under 5's gymnastics on Monday, he loved it! I was more knackered though! I have no idea how I will cope in another 4weeks time though! Didn't realise I would be lifting him on to the bars and other things! But it was great fun!

I know I'm not due anytime soon (jan 7th) but I keep having mini panic attacks about all the things that need to be done or sorted in the house, some of which needs dh to set time aside and just get on e.g decorating but he is not self motivating and in this pregnancy I have become very lazy! I dont know how best to motivate me so that the house is straight and we can get on with all this other stuff! ARRRRGGGGHHH :wall:Anyone have any motivating suggestions!

Anyway also wanted to say hope all is ok courgette and that you will soon be holding or already having mummy cuddles.

Congrats to the others I think it was horse and bunny.

Rach - Hope the plumber came back.

To those discussing c/section I had cs last time for lots of reasons but I had got to 10cm and tried to push him in out but my little monster had fidgeted so much during birth that he wasn't birthing the right part of his head and got sort of stuck, as well as tying 2 true knots in the cord which was causing his heart rate to fall with each contraction. So ended up in theatre at 1.29am having cs ( I was induced due to waters breaking 2days before and labour not starting) I had every interventon going (except ventose) including forceps! Used Tens which was great, g & a and epidural and a spinal block, hey in for a penny in for a pound! SO this time I was determind to have vbac until I found out I will be monitored the whole time which will mean being bed bound unless the trace is fantastic for moving on the bed or sitting on a birthing ball!

I am a little nervous as to what could happen I dread going overdue as I don't want to be induced having said that it wasn't that bad until ds starting have heart rate drops thats when it got complicated, I dilated well and quickly, I started on the drip at 2pm and was 6/7cm dilated by 7.30pm 10cm by 12pm. Part of me came home from my consultant app a few weeks ago thinking 'well I think I would prefer a cs again' from the point of view of so much being unknown but they wouldn't give me a cs by choice anyway our hospital is very very pro vbac, also how would I look after ds and newborn and recover!!!! Sorry I've just realised I have just offloaded all I was thinking, some of which I haven't discussed fully with dh as he thinks I will be stubborn and try to have vbac at any cost as this is our last child and he knows I am desperate for natural birth.

Its all so out of our control, I dont plan to make a birth plan this time, I wont be allowed a water birth which is what I would really like, I have no reason for the plan I feel as it can all go out the window in a split second!

Sorry this has been such a long ramble/moan! Will come back later I have to bath and bed ds and then pack as we are away tomorrow, big family get together, the adults (not me I though) are doing go ape!

heya hun you don't have to be monitored constantly in a vbac, it is just recommended :)

  • Congrats Smartie. :j
I had Daisy on my list, but we've narrowed girls names down to just the 1 we agree on!! Got nowhere on boys names yet.

Sending hugs and best wishes to Courgette and hoping you're having mummy cuddles right now x
