Bunny - Congratulations on your baby girl - what a lovely name.
Well I have 7 days to go :j:j:j. How come it feels more like 70 days though? It seems to be dragging (probably because I am not very patient!).0 -

Just fitted sheets I would have thought.
I'm going to my first NCT nearly new sale a week tomorrowLooking forward to that. Anyone managed to get any bargains at one?
What do I need clothes wise? For a february baby? For say the first 2 weeks? We're not finding out the sex, so don't want to buy too much neutral stuff and I expect people will get us stuff, so what's the bare minimum we need?
Bunny - congratulations :j:j Look forward to reading your birth story. Are you OK though? You make it sound like it wasn't a good one for you
MV I would have thought you feel better in a couple of days now. Don't forget to finish the course!Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Hi everyone
Well I have a baby girl, Emily Violet, 10lbs 7oz, born on 7/9/10 at 3:16am, via emergency C Section.
We went in hospital on 6/9/10 at around 10:30am.
I'll write all the details down in a proper story probably tomorrow, but please don't get scared by it.

congratulations bunny, sorry it was difficult.
fuzz - meant to sat last night, such great news about your friend. What a relief for all concerned.
lillian - I have still got blankets as well as sleeping bags, as blankets are useful if you're sitting holding baby, and for the pushchair etc, plus the sleeping bags are often a bit big at the beginning!
Gems - we borrowed a wheelchair from shopmobility for free the other day, was excellent. My mum pushed me around but then she doesn't have MS! I'm tempted to get one for myself until the end but I know DH wouldn't want to push me in it so it's pointless I think!
giz - we have bought vests, sleepsuits, hats, some little slipper things and scratch mitts and some cardigans to start off with. Just a couple of outfits too that I've picked up/mum and Mil have got. Most stuff is just from the supermarket and plain white...Sainsburys do value sleepsuits for something like £3.75 for 3 which if you get with 25% off are very cheap. I've bought a decent number of each in newborn and 0-3 as I don't want to be stressing about needing to wash them every 5 minutes!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Congratulations Bunny, sorry everything didn't go to plan.
I'm off work today, feeling grotty. I woke up at normal time with stomach ache and feeling sick but I haven't been sick or had diawoo. So I decided its a rest day from work today.
Had a good session with physio yesterday and she is going to show me some other exercises next week. SPD hasn't been too bad this week but listening to my body and how much it can do.
Cat is still poorly, still not eating very much and very unsteady on her feet. Poor old thing. Gena - its the cat that was maltreated poor old girl, it does make me wonder if the abuse brought on the renal failure although vet said that she was showing no injuries. Just going to give her time and TLC.
Going to try something to eat to see if it settles my stomach.Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

Can anyone explain a top up feed to me please? Ideally i'd like to breastfeed this baby. But I know the hubby will want to feed her too. I also know there are special bottles out there now that aim to make this easier? So if I breastfeed how does topping up come into it?
My last child didn't take to breastfeeding well and after 3 weeks of being up every half an hour my greedy baby went onto bottled milk. She slept 4 hours straight and I thought I was in heaven!
Good luck courgette! Thinking of you hunnie.Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
Charlie - I don't really know, but I think it is just giving a bottle either after or inbetween breast feeds, sometimes the baby doesn't seem to get full from breastfeeds. I think it's recommended to get breastfeeding established first though. Some info here but loads more if you google too. Lots of people don't top up with formula but let their OHs bottlefeed some feeds with expressed milk (I'm hoping to do this if I have enough milk!). I think the Tommy Tippee bottles are meant to be good for this and also some others called Adiri
I'm sure someone else will know more.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
