Thanks MV. I think I probably am just feeling too grim most of the time. Even the MW was shocked at how bad things have been. Waiting in anticipation for the 'blooming' stage............
It's great that you're feeling movement. Mine tends to have a good ol shift around at about 4am, or when I'm trying to concentrate at work!If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -
hngrymummy totally empathise with you as I was like you with my first pregnancy. Sick morning noon and night from 6 weeks right up to the very end. I felt like you at times especially as time was going on and the sickness wasn't getting any better (midwife thought I was going to have to be hospitalised at one point).
I did feel a bit resentful that the baby was making me so damned miserable and weak and tired. However I did bond with her the very second she was born and didn't care how sick she was making me, totally fell in love with her.
This pregnancy I am nowhere near as bad maybe being sick just once or twice a day and you will think I'm mad but it does bother me a wee bitLast Saturday I was in tears for ages as I hadn't been sick and was convinced my symptoms had disappeared and that something had gone wrong (silly now I know). What go me through it the last time was knowing that the baby was obviously thriving and I kept thinking lots of sickness=lots of hormones raging around=healthy baby
Don't know if that is true or not but it worked for me!
It is crap being so sick and it feels like it goes on forever but believe me it is all worth it in the end - hey I came back for seconds expecting the same second time round so you really do forget about it.
Take care and I really hope it eases for you. Not sure how you feel about alternative remedies but I vowed i would try homeopathic remedies the next time round if it was the same, but so far don't feel I need it ......yet -oh hope I've not just jinked myself:eek:
ETA by the way bubs came out a very healthy 9Ib 6oz so don't worry that your sickness is hindering your baby in any way;)"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

I'm a bit worried at the moment, as I don't really feel as though I'm 'bonding' with my bump. It was nice to hear a heartbeat yesterday, but I wasn't grinning from ear to ear or excitedly calling everyone. I don't really feel terribly close to it at all, it's just 'there' (although it's a very much wanted baby). I'm hoping it's just down to still feeling grim.
Please don't worry, I haven't bonded with either bump, although I am happy to feel the kicking to know that everything's ok, and the baby is growing well. I just see pregnancy as preparation for the birth. I bonded fine with DS as soon as he was born, and I am sure I will bond with this one when she arrives, and I'm really looking forward to her arriving, but I don't get warm and fuzzy feelings about my expanding belly.0 -

I'm getting really frustrated, I can't feel the ends of my fingers, it's pretty much constant now, my splints don't really help all that much it's really getting me down, I can barely write anything or hold anything for longer than about 10 second0

2girlsforme wrote: »just a quickie from me (which is probably what got me into this mess :rotfl:) but for the ladies that are taking iron tablets have you tried Spa Tone? it is a liquid iron - available from boots and usually always on 3 for 2, you take it with a small amount of fruit juice and does not give you any of the symptoms that the tablets do. Highly recommend it!
I've been taking spatone since about 16 weeks, so about 3 weeks now. It might be coincidence but I definitely don't feel sleepy at work anymore. However not sure if it's pointless as midwife said my iron levels were excellent and the test was from before I started spatone.
Smartie - glad to hear you are a bit better.
MV - glad you're feeling baby
I give up with ebay...ordered a used mobile (very picky about the design and can't find one suitable in the shops) and it's got stains on it. No mention in the listing and you can't see them in the photoContacted seller and they offered for us to send it back, but it's not worth the postage or hassle. I don't think I can put it in the washing machine, but will try and hand wash it. Any tips? Do I let it soak, give it a scrub?
A friend of mum's gave us 2 stair gates for free, so that saves a few pennies.
Can't wait for the scan a week tomorrow. If http://www.mothercare.com/Winnie-Pooh-Cot-Bed-Save/dp/B002JEE1BE/sr=1-5/qid=1283888317/ref=sr_1_5/279-7454118-3939242?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44362031&mcb=core is still on offer I think we might buy it
I'm not clued up on baby clothes prices, but there is a 20% of baby clothing at Tesco online http://www.clothingattesco.com/baby/icat/catgbabyBaby Giz born 6/2/110 -
hngrymummy - your work should buy you a back support - I just found one in the stationery catalogue and put a requisition in for it - it was really helpful. Got a footrest too! I am sure it's just the sickness etc, but also, I have sometimes felt detatched, like it is all happening to someone else. I realised after the scan yes that I'd not even really looked at it, well I saw her measuring but it was hard to tell what as what at this stage!
After me being pleased that bubs is not estimated to be toooo huge, my friend who had babies of 9 and 10lb + and twins of 17lb joint weight tells me that hers were lighter than mine at this stage...
smartie - lovely to hear from you, sorry I haven't texted you
Feel like I am seriously hibernating now, slept in this morning, napped this aft then fell asleep watching tv. Now I'm ready for bed! Am not leaving the flat tomorrow I've decided. Plumber is coming at some point to fit new shower...hopefully not too early!
For anyone wanting cloth nappies or accessories, Kittykins are having a 25% off closing down sale https://www.kittykins.co.uk - I can't justify getting anymore nappy stuff...though I am a bit frustrated as my friend still hasn't got back to me about sending the ones she has promised me. I am really relying on them as only have 15 small nappies and they take ages to dry with no tumble drier. I am going to phone her tomorrow.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
