I've never taken any notice of things like RLT, pineapple, curry etc etc but since both of mine have been massively overdue maybe I will for next time :o

I just can't work out if I'm having contractions or not. I'm trying to time them but I can't work out when they're starting or ending, just the middle bit when they're quite sore. They're about 5 mins apart and lasting about a minute but if I can't tell when they're starting and can speak through them then i guess they're not real?
You gonna do this again???? I'm impressed:D They might be real and you just have a high pain threshold?? Might be worth timing them properly and see if they get stronger?:)

I can officially come out of lurkdom as maternity leave has begun for me! (well.... annual leave until next week)

I am so rubbish at posting, honestly. :o I have been reading the thread regularly and would like to say a big good luck to Smartie for today and humungous labour vibes to Courgette! :D

The last week has been very dramatic for me. I was in a car accident this time last week which triggered off contractions. I wouldn't even have known tbh if I hadn't of gone to hospital to be checked over and get another anti-d jab to be on the safe side. Hooked up to a monitor and was having regular contractions (just felt like stitch like pains in my belly). The consultant prepped me saying at 35 weeks, baby would be more than fine and alarm bells started ringing. Gladly, the contractions (although still regular) tapered off throughout the night and managed to get the ketones out of my wee although I think they were only there because I had nothing to eat since lunchtime and little to drink since 4pm when I was checked at 2am the next morning. Was allowed out the following day with strict instructions to rest until baba is here.

I started drinking one cup at 34 weeks and have just upped this to 2 cups at 36 weeks. I've actually got used to the taste of it now. With a spoonful of sugar, it tastes like warm ribena. :rotfl:
:eek:Glad alls ok now but you sure you should be having RLT after all that??;):) and YAY for maternity leave starting:j What wil you do with yourself eh?:D
My plan for RLT is to start tomorrow and week 32-34 have 1 per day
    34-36 = 2 per day
    36+ = 3 per day
Babycentre recommends no more than 3 cups per day from what i can tell so will stick to that as its been my bible throughout:o:)

Afternoon folks... Had my 16 week appointment today. It wasn't my usual midwife, but she was so funny and lovely I wish she was! I was in there 40 mins  I told her about the spotting and she said she wasn't concerned and that the hospital wouldn't do anything unless I was full on bleeding...

She was really supportive of me declining routine GTT and growth scans and said more women should research things for themselves rather than just doing as the consultants tell them...

She also tried to find the babies heartbeat but no joy... I was surprised she wanted to try to be honest considering the size of me so I'm not too concerned she couldn't find it... No more appointments now until my scan at 22 weeks...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I never even thought about that. :o I've had nothing since, so hoping baba was a little shook up when my stress levels went through the roof. Not doing a lot. Just attempted some ironing but back started acheing so gave up on it. :o

I've read no more than 3 cups too as apparantly there is something in it that could be harmful if consumed in large quantities (like there is with more or less everything).
