What a beautiful baby!!
Congratulations Kitkat.
I suppose until you actually get into the delivery room, no one knows what will happen and often a birth plan goes out the window.
Glad he's here safe and well though. Love the name Theo tooMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Congrats to KitKat and welcome to the world Theo! I hope mother and baby are doing well. :jMOTM - Wow you're rapidly building up your netball team there! The nuchal scan is still not routinely offered on the NHS across the country so you are lucky its available in your area. As it looks at the bloods, scan and maternal age its the best picture you are going to get at that stage of the DS risk. But it is just that a risk factor. If you get a high result you still then need to decide whether to go with amnio or CVS. I was pleased to accept the test, as just a few years ago I would have automatically been suggested amnio because of my age, but with the bloods and nuchal scan I was given a much more accurate assessment which happened luckily to be low risk.
Let's hope for a couple of boys for the netball team
Mixed response on the scan. Seems like an individual choice. I suppose if it's offered...I don't know.MOTM big congrats on the twins. They'll be about 5 weeks early remember
The 10yo's arrived 2.5 weeks early. Scary thought 5 weeks early though :eek:0 -
MOTM if the twins are fraternal and unless you're happy with 11 kids then I suggest not trying for anymore after these, just found this quote on a website:eek::DSome statistics. A woman who is herself a fraternal twin is 2.5 times as likely to have twins as someone from the general population. A mother of fraternal twins is 3-4 times more likely to have another set of fraternal twins. A woman who is an identical twin is no more likely to have twins compared to someone else.1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

**confuzzled** wrote: »Hehe could be a mix of both!? Obviously your 'super swimmers';) have to find the target(s) so if there's only one target to hit it has to split at some point, think it's after fertilisation then it'll be down to the woman(you'll get identical twins). if your OH has just happened to release 2 eggs and 2 of your swimmer hit the jackpot then you're both as bad as one another and are showing off(fraternal twins)
So if my high school biology is right........its her fault your having twins and your fault if they're both girls:p:rotfl:
Well, yesterday showed (apparently, scans go over my head this early) 2 sacs, 2 placentas, fraternal twins.
:rotfl:I'll just take the blame no matter what. It's easier and I can take it0 -

OH is not a twin and neither am I, so...
Anyway, she wanted 2 children and the first thing she said when she discovered about the twins was something along the lines of 'Thank goodness I don't have to go through this again'
I think this is the end and I need to top up on contraception.0 -
i would've felt the same if I'd had twins, at the moment, I'm only doing this once more, lol0

Fingers crossed one them is a boy eh?? it's a 50/50 chance and won't even up the status quo in the house but would be nice experience for you
