Just don't want to keep ringing the hospital or getting there and is no room at the inn. Dream you are right to be assertive as the lady at the triage put down that I was coming back from today and mention it to them when I ring up, as at the end of the day they are doing it for a medical reason not because I feel like it!!
Also courgette could you request as an alternative monitoring of the baby or do they do this??

Ever the optimistic me:rotfl:courgette - hope you were successful at putting off the induction date. I heard last week of a lady (who was a midwife) who went 4 weeks overdue as she refused to be induced
Thanks ladies. Had another sweep, apparently I'm further off giving birth than I was last friday:(:(:( Not at all favourable and plus the sweep really bloody hurt today. Phoned DH for a cry, just feel so fed up.
They've booked me in for a scan at the hospital next Weds when I'll be 42 weeks so they can check the placenta and then I can have a meeting with a consultant to discuss my care plan. I don't wanna discuss my care plan with a stranger.
Really hoped, especially since I've been having contractions for the last 2 days, that the mw would say I was in early labour. Poor DS goes back to school next week and I've done nothing with him all summer so this SPD is so limiting. I am sick and tired of being in pain.
I don't know if I'm being self-indulgant now either, whether I should just go in and be induced and forget my home water birth and just do as I'm told. I just don't believe my due date of 18th August can possibly be right - how could I conceive on day 7 of a 28 day cycle? I don't get it. My original date was 25th August which seems much more likely and which only puts me 2 days over, it's just the mw saying I was no where near ready yet has made me feel really desparate.
And what is it with people asking me if I've f*cking had it yet :mad::mad::mad: Do I LOOK like I've had it? Do you not think I'd bother to tell you?!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Updating soon...0 -
Probably no consolation to you ladies queuing for inductions, but apparently the UK is going through a bit of a baby boom this month. Aug/Sept is always busy cos it's 9 months after Xmas/New Year, but given it was the coldest winter for 20 years, it seems there was a lot more snuggling up going on than usual.
Btw - I've reached my half-baked point today!We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
oh courgette sorry it didn't go well, at least they are just checking the placenta so if its still providing baby fine then hopefully they won't push the induction so much.0

(((hugs))) courgette, maybe you could explain that to the consultant??
Re make-it-three, all this activity at Xmas is terrible (although ours was probably conceived on boxing day or shortly after!!!) - so maybe is all the activity from xmas parties coming through now!!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

courgette thats carp! i would have thought they would take into account your dates alot more! it happened to a friend of mine although the other way round they told her she was earlier than she really was - they only admitted it when the baby was born they estimated she was 4 weeks o/due - which made my friends dates spot on!!
makeit3 - i heard that aswell! and our hosp only has 4 induction beds so im just hoping theres room for me if i go over!! congrats for being 20 weeks i swear from that point on it has flown in for me!
moneysaver - this baby feels like hes trying to escape aswell :rotfl: GP reception said it wont be a problem for him to see me. its just a bit carp when you always have to see different people.
rach your OH sounds like mine lol i swear he's having pregnancy hormones aswell! it doesnt help that i bust into tears at the slightest little thing now aswell
just after having my eyebrows threaded - ouch!! waxing doesnt bother me but that really hurt! and i couldnt be annoyed walking round to my usual beauticians so i went into house of fraser, it cost £24  better keep that a secret as ive been shouting at OH for wasting money :rotfl:0 -
I can believe the baby boom, there's 10 nurses pregnant just on the ward I work on. I kept saying it was down to it being a cold winter.
Courgette, just go with what you think about your due date, try not to get fed up, what the longest your going to be pregnant for, it's what keeping me sane and technically I'm not due till tomorrow0 -
Still no babies then, sorry to hear you've not started yet Courgette fingers crossed it starts really soon
SirM make sure they sort you out tomorrow.
good vibes for whatever anyone else needs.
I had a mixed day. My friend came for coffee this morning but almost had to push her out of the door so I could go to physio (which I was a bit late for as a result), even though she knew I had to leave at 1:15 at the latest.
Physio hurt like hell and now I'm in more pain than usual, but I expected that.
Then took DS to his friends how for the rest of the pm, he got to play on the trampoline and eat ice lollies, I got to sit on my heat pack and watch.
We're going to St Fagans tomorrow for a picnic with friends which will be lovely, I've resigned myself to the fact that my SPD won't let me walk around it, even on my crutches so will be using one of their wheelchairs. Its just not fair on DS to miss out just because I can't go places, so as silly as I will feel using one, I'm doing it for DS.0 -
Good luck to everyone being induced! :T
I just can't stop lurking... I'm justifying it by the fact that I **should** still be pregnant :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hi all,
My god Lillian those cakes are just awful - don't even think I could bring myself to have a slice! :rotfl:
Not been on for a while, I'm 36 +4 now. I got a change of hospital and went for a check over on Wed, thought I'd be in and out within 20 mins to get back to work - but they ended up keeping me in for obs overnight for Hbp and ++ protein showing in my samples. I was well peed off as thought I'd gotten away with the Pre eclampsia symptoms this time, and with it being my 2nd preg, all the MW's were telling me it was unlikely I'd get p/e again. Got out yesterday and went back to work today (only got a week to go). Was so paranoid my bp would be up cause there's no warning signs, that I just sat on my bum most of the day answering the phone trying not to move lol. Has anyone else been unlucky enough to get pre eclampsia more than once? CMW is coming out to see me tomorrow, so see what she says about my bp, can't believe it's been so normal and consistent up until now.I've to go back to hospital next week - I can see me being back in there before then.
Good luck Courgette, hope things get moving soon. fx2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017
Weight loss the old style way challenge - 7/14lbs :j0 -
Horse - with DD1 my bp shot up and ++ protein at 38 weeks they monitored me and I went into labour naturally, with DD2 the BP and ++ protein started at 30 ish weeks and I was induced at 37.
