fad1211 wrote:Has anybody received a refund from these b*****rds yet. I have rang and rang, maybe I am getting fobbed off. I have given my credit card number for refund 3 times, been told chq is in post, which nvr arrives. Just wondering if its just me waiting for my money back. My order was cancelled before they despatched.
Sorry fad1211, you seem to be going through it too with this bunch of muppets !
I can't help much with my experience as I already had the item in hand and was FINALLY able to get an 'instant' refund instore. I know with the cheques though they advice at least 28 days before receipt !!! Pathetic.0 -
Today I received a cheque from Carphone Warehouse for the phone that I cancelled.
The cheque is for £27.95. I paid £37.95 on the 19th Sept. When I phoned to cancel the phone the day after ordering it I was told I would e refunded in 10 days, which it hasn't been, but nothing was mentioned about the amount.
I have just spent 40 mins on the phone to them being passed to 4 different departments and having to explain the same situation each time.
They have told me I am not entitled to the £10 back because it was for credit. Despite arguing that I never received the phone or the credit they still would not give me my own money back.
They finally agreed 'as a gesture of goodwill' ???? that they would send me a £10 gift voucher to use in their shop. I don't live near one of their shops but don't want to buy anything off these people every again, so I said I didn't want a voucher I wanted my money back.
They said the the only thing I can do is to send an e-mail to cdunstone@cpwplc.com to complain.
Can anyone offer any advice. Also what is the best thing to write in the e-mail.0 -
Head Office CAN send you a cheque for the £10 credit. Well, that's what I've arranged anyway...time will tell. They couldn't perform the refund instore so HO had to send a cheque.
I received the £30 compensation cheque from them this morning... in an unsealed ( not even attempted to be sealed ), opened envelope !!

That's how my cheque arrived this morning - unsealed, open envelope.0

Im still waiting for a cheque for airtime and postage.
Have now been told to wait till wednesday.0 -
Finally received my chq for the full amount I paid (inc £10 credit) 6 wks later. This only happened coz i chased them up enough times and was put through pillar and post and back to pillar again. I was told that despite cancelling my order (cancelled b4 despatch) their normal policy is to credit my a/c with £37.95, not to offer a refund unless I request it!!!
BTW, I never rang any 0870 numbers, I just used the 0870.com and rang on the freephone or geographical number using my free mins on my contract mobby, so I didnt mind waiting on the phone, I just place the phone on speakerphone whilst watching TV.
But, I will nvr touch this company again, and anybody reading this, you have been warned, only deal with them if you can take stress!0 -

Put the unsealed cheque down to human error... until I received my second cheque... unseald again !!!
With my personal details, account number ( with credit available ) I find this totally unacceptable !.... but can I be arsed to complain ? Er, no.
Been a painful experience, ok whilst trying for a bargain, but still. I'm glad we all seem to be slowly being sorted
Like fad1211, I will never touch this company again !0 -
still no money from these fools. I got some credit note printed out that stated i would be getting a cheque.0

Well, I received my £27.95 refund one month after I returned the V220.
No sign of my other £10 for the Vodaphone airtime credit, so I wrote Clifford Dunstone (CEO) a letter (marked Private - Addressee Only) stating that if I did not receive my £10 within 7 days, their debt to me would increase by £1 per day and that I would also charge them £25 per letter for each subsequent letter I had to send them to remind them.
This letter was evidently ignored, so I wrote them a further letter, basically indicating that their debt to me had increased to £60 as they had accepted my Terms & Conditions by default as they had not replied to my previous letter.
OBVIOUSLY not much chance of receiving this amount from them for the original £10 outstanding refund, BUT they have just phoned me to advise that a cheque for £30 will be with me in the next two weeks!
