Van with trailer and digger parked on road!

Fair enough, I'm no expert on road law, far from it, but I can't see how a vehicle parked legally on a road is deemed to be illegal by the police but this is not so when a lantern is suspended from the rear?Nope, I have no reason to leave out any part of the story. Its as I said, may be 20 years ago now but we thought it ridiculous at the time.0 -
If it's legal, taxed, MOT'd (if it requires one being older than 3 years old) and insured what's the big problem?
So no one can park their work van/car outside or near this street?!
Sounds like people have more time on there hands and nothing to moan at so there picking on this poor bloke - welcome to England people !
Have you actually read the thread?! That's correct, nobody can park their work van on this street, that was part of the agreement when purchasing a house in this neighbourhood, don't like the rules, buy elsewhere, seems simple enough!
How is he the 'poor bloke' he blocks people in and disregards the covenants on his deeds.
I despair at some people on here.0 -
I totally agree, why is parking a van outside a house such a henious crime?Well if you don't like it, move or complain to the Council, and if they don't do anything, stop trying to find ways to get this bloke moved.
I dislike a number of people on here after the posts I have seen people make here today, a load of kids chatting on here.
My daughter has more brains than some of the posters here!!!
I totally agree with the poster above, "Welcome to England."

What do you mean if I don't like it? Its not me with this plonker of a neighbour! I agree it may be a stupid rule, but why buy a house when you know it exists? Why is he 'poor man' when he blocks people on their own driveway as his works vehicle and digger is to large to be a parked safely on a road?0 -

Who said it was a 'henious crime?'
Yeah welcome to England, break the rules and the law by causing an obstruction and nothing will be done, in fact you will be hailed as being a 'poor man!'0 -
My point is, I have read a number of threads here today, some members are trying to help others out while others are picking holes in other members, just because they don't agree with a post.
Then I come across this thread, so how about OP, the guy goes on the dole, your taxes pay him, would that be okay?? that would look much better for the neighbourhood having a family on the dole in the area!
People can't do right for doing wrong, what a sad country we have come down too!
BTW, I'm thinking of contacting the Highways, Council and starting a huge public meeting next week, as I hate next door parking there car outside my house, it's Red and does not go well with my curtains!
What has that got to do with the situation! People aren't saying the guy can't work, just follow the rules and stop causing an obstruction.
Good luck with contacting the Highways Council!0 -
Totally agree, apart from trying to make a living with a digger I can see no major crime. If people have time to worry about these things, then I really wonder. Especially when there are 3 billion people starving in this world, in this developed country people are sleeping in cardboard boxes, and banks are still allowed to steal millions from us.My point is, I have read a number of threads here today, some members are trying to help others out while others are picking holes in other members, just because they don't agree with a post.

If somebody made such a non-complaint to me, I'd find the leakiest, tattiest looking s**tbox on eBay, and just leave it parked outside all day.

So with the lack of jobs currently about at present the OP is in the wrong for having a van?!
I know, doubt I get anywhere contacting Highways and the Council to many back logs with stupid reports of behaviour which is complete legal rather than not.
I'm not going to debate any more in this thread, if someone wants to start a thread for debating parking do so, but unlike others I refuse to overtake a thread with rubbish!
Have you read any of this thread? The OP doesn't have a van?
Probably best you don't debate on here anymore, at least until you've read the whole thread and can make comments that are even slightly relevant.

A van, a digger, does it really matter?
I have read this thread, apart from it sounding like a joke in parts, it's a complete and utter waste of tax payers money the council looking into it.
I have just submitted my complaint to Highways, requested they get the High courts involved too, as clearly a Red car could be offensive, specially being Red, I find that colour VERY rude.
I hope they take his car, and crush it then fine him loads of money he will have to pay of at £1 a week till he has repaid it in full, then maybe that will teach him to buy a car we all like! ahem
I can only assume your a troll after that comment. The OP doesn't have a digger or van, you would know if you had read the thread. Also I don't recall her ever saying that the council were looking into it, could you quote this information?0 -
People in OP's street are having a meeting, it is a van with a digger, read the thread, even the thread title gives it away.
Me a troll - of course, everyone you don't agree with is a troll.
Her neighbour has the van and digger NOT the OP as you suggest. Have you the link to this information about the Council looking into it and it being a waste of tax payers money?
It is because I don't agree with you that I believe your a troll!0
