Currently having fun(!!!) with Phoenix Commercial Collections. In the last week have had a series of fraught conversations with our local council and the charming warm and helpful(!!!!!!not!!!!!) "ladies" on the Phoenix helplines over the ammount owed, how to pay(no, we CAN'T pay the full ammount in one go). Also they have charged us for two visits (that did not take place) adding fees both times. They sent us a letter which upped the ammount by £161. We have now got our MP and complaints dept of the council involved but had another letter on tuesday informing us that they will be visiting on or after 21st Sep(today) I feel sick.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Paraphrased slightly but wouldn't that be sure to land you a DCA position if you had that at the top of your CV!"A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -

I have read many of the past posts and I don't see anything much helpful, I see an I am right you are wrong attitude. There isn't an ounce of compassion understanding or empathy, in fact often (see the post above) it is downright spitefulness, just for the heck of it. And I am quite sure that is justified in his or her world because debtors aren't human are they? They are account numbers, it's perfectly ok to kick them because they have no rights anymore. It brings me in mind of the attitude the nazzis had as they shot and gassed millions of innocent people. It's just a great big game, but that's ok because as I have said, it's not as if we are dealing with people here... people with feelings.
Trouble is, if Tootsie shot us all, he would have no job to go to, wouldn't that be a shame.
That's right I have never helped anyone - what a ridiculous statement to make - of course all the people who have thanked me have just hit the wrong button !! As a previous poster pointed out - a troll seems to be anyone who doesn't agree with their view on the world. I rarely give my opinion unless it's for some idiots like rog2 or Mike SH who, with their attitude probably deserve all they have got. In general I will simply state the facts or try to give an idea of how some actions will be perceived from the dca side. It might not be what some people want to hear and because of that I'm a spiteful troll - well so be it.
In addition regarding my comments to kickingkay - everybody faces tragedy and hardship at some point in their life - even me. That doesn't mean you just fold up and hope it all goes away - you still have to face up to it.0 -
hi i can't remember what dca it was, but it was for firstplus, and the debt collector left a note scribbled over my catalogue asking to ring him. i presumed it was catalogue courier so phoned. because i wouldn't give my details or any info to him(once i'd cottoned on to who he was) he then threatened to knock me out and said you f**king women , your all the f**king same etc and how he was going to come around and attack me. he got a police caution for 1st stage of harrassment. but the best thing about it was it wasn't my account or debt, it was my ex-boyfriends so !!!!!! could i have done about it.0

I've had a letter from a DCA we've not dealt with before.
Anyone had any dealings with Nationwide Collection Services? Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Yes - I had two letters from these 'people' in reference to a disputed debt with BH. Did a Companies House search on them, which said that they were a dormant company - no accounts submitted. Equally, address on their letter was Edinburgh, whereas registered address was Barnet - CH search said that they had no other branches. To my complete surprise:rolleyes:  I later received a letter from the compliance department of Black Horse Finance, which, coincidentally, is based at the registered address of Nationwide Collection Services.
In my opinion NCW is a desk in the corner of a BH office (or a link on their computer).I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

A valid point - there are a few people who 'troll' this forum and make pointless posts in direct contradiction to the original aim of the thread (usually someone who is in genuine need of good advice and certainly does not need the kind of arrogant criticism that these people give).
I now see that this is a sign of their own insecurity - a bit like the playground bully.
Totally unnecessary, but difficult to ignore.
i have to say tho, and i have prob missed some of TR's 'better' posts, that sometimes i do read something and think ' well you did get yourself into that situation and now you want to escape the consequences somehow etc etc'. I don't post it tho because i'm not into conflict and who am i to poor misery and scorn to an already misfotunate person and situation? TR clearly doesn't give a damn who it upsets and so posts away. also, it's much easier to maintain TR's attitude when it is sat in a very smug and comfortable position, untroubled by debt and in a job where TR has to deal with ppl all day long who he/she probably has little or no respect for. so it comes on here and finds the same kind of ppl here and so continues the disrespect. all it really shows is his lack of empathy and understanding with the world at large, and so i just feel rather sorry for him cos that's a pretty horrible situation to be in when you can't relate/understand/empathise with so many fellow people. ah well.carve your name in red. the silver slipping and slicing. rose petals blossom and fall. soul steals away.0 -
Wescott Credit Services have been a total pain. I have had them chasing me on two occasions, even sending baliffs to the door.
Just for you Tootsie "it was not my fault, it was someone elses fault" - and in this case it really was. Powergen are so cr*p that they kept trying to make me pay the gas bill for a house I used to own (the bill was for a year after I had sold it - even had the letter to prove they knew I had moved!).
They just would not believe I didn't owe the money. Ages after Powergen cleared the account they were still bugging me!0 -
This site has really opened up how people are feeling. I know Toilet mouth, sorry.. TR trolls here now and again, I do hope other DCA's read though and take some feedback.0
