Mummyslittleboy, I have gotten those "luggage tags" before in proper office stationary stores - rather than general stationary stores. If you look in stores that seem to be dealing with businesses, they might have them.

Thanks for that I will go into town and have a look for them.

I have decided to make up a few hampers for various people and a couple of them like cooking so am going to go to Ask and get the cookbooks they have for sale as they are donating £4.00 from the sale to great ormond street I just need to think what can go with them. Was thinking of buying the ingredients for 1 of the recipes but until I get the book not sure if that can be done.

I will start making my cards when DS goes back to playschool next week as otherwise he will run of with the bits i need.

tinselfairy I managed to get the one of ebay for £1.99 free postage :T was a lot cheaper than others on there so am pleased with that.

The last couple of years I've made chutney for family and wasnt sure if it was appreciated or not, except this year MIL said would I be making some because everyone was looking forward to it and did I want some jars saved. I was chuffed about that so going to make some more soon, last year was red onion marmalade and sweet chilli jam.

How does everyone present their jars of chutney/jam etc? Last year I just stuck on white labels and wrote the type of chutney and put them in paper gift bags but would love some sort of printed label if anyone knows of any.

That's a lovely idea, I was thinking though, rather than buying all the ingredients for a recipe which maybe a bit expensive, plus you will have to watch sell by dates, how about the recipe book plus one " speciality ingredient" ie really good chocolate or cocoa, nice olive oil or balsamic vinegar, posh spices or herbs. Keen cooks love that sort of thing.
Have been lurking here and am loving the ideas. I'm currently knitting a mohair scarf for my niece for her Christmas. I'll do another for her sister after. Love the idea of the pink hampers, so I think I'll start collecting for those.:)

I've bought mine off Ebay previously (unfortunately the seller is no longer registered) or you can get cellophane from florists.

I was in a "Bargain Bookstore" at lunch and got myself 6 books. A book on the "Hidden Alaska" for my bro who has recently moved to Calgary and is into adventure stuff (as a hint for some trips in the summer for him). A soft book for a niece. A book on the foods of Killarney, for my aunt and uncle (big foodies and they holiday near there every year) as part of a hamper of goodies. 2 small cookbooks for me, and a book on future forecasting for me (an economics/current affairs type book).

They were all cheap anyway, but I actually ended up effectively getting the baby book for free as he knocked off some money to round it down, as I had bought a few together! Result!

Must add those to my spreadsheet now though to keep track.

I have just been into town:o and have bought lots mainly for my mum but I need to get hers done earlier as it has to posted to scotland, everything I bought to go in her hamper was under £1.00 per item (apart from the basket itself)
I got 2 x DVD's that she had said she likes.
    1 Book that she wanted
1 x Box of chocolates (belgian ones)
    1 x Hand Lotion
    1 x vanilla candle
    1 x body wash
    1 x bodt cream
3 x cream flannels (she is always moaning she needs new ones)

Just need to get her some pyjammas now and maybe a new dressing gown and some bath bombs and she is all done.:T

I got the basket from wilkinsons

Winged one well done on the books our local bookshop had nothing in there today that was any good a lot of the shelves were empty as they are getting new stock in this week so will be heading there soon.
jintyb Thanks for that idea was thinking the same about the ingrediants did see some nice aprons that were quite cheap whilst in town which set me of thinking recipe book, apron and a bottle of wine? what do you think ? I do like the idea of the specialty item though so will have to think long and hard on that one.
