Ooooo this is an inspiring thread I've decided as well as jam and marmalade I'm going to have a go at flavoured vodka too.
Not sure how old style this is but I've saved £40 of amazon vouchers from doing online surveys, this will pay for pressies for DS. We usually take him on a santa express train for Christmas but this year we are taking him and his little cousin to Winter Thomasland, we bought the tickets with Tesco vouchers - he can't wait :) So cheapo treats!!!

For DH I'm going to go to B & M Stores and buy some bottle of real ale, buy bags of peanuts and crisps and a pint glass and make a Dad Christmas survival kit for him :)

Fantastic shopping in Asda today - got some back to school things, some christmas presents and some beer for a party we're invited to on Monday AND 90% of the shopping for September for under £250. Best of all, I managed to get a Christmas present for OH who is difficult to buy for so I was very pleased indeed.

Next time I must remember to buy a takeaway / instant pizza or something for saturday night tea!! Will start wrapping when the boys go back to school - just so that I know where I am with things and don't end up buying things for people twice!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • Just got my christmas savings today - £300, so christmas will officially begin!

Have bought some bits, but that amount will be doing everyone as nothing is going on credit cards. hoping wilkinsons get some dove tuff either half price or BOGOF so can start neices hampers - an idea I borrowed from here!!!

Christmas is at home with my sis, mum and two grown up neices at 4.30pm for tea. first christmas without Dad and he and mum always had family round for lunch - so this year a new tradition begins with Dad in mind OH is going to try and recreate his sprouts, bacon and i think it was spring onion!

You may have to be a proficient knitter to do this - but it's an idea that someone may like!

There are some other good ideas on this site also.

What about a Glenn Miller cd ? You could wrap it in brown paper and string, and a label like they used on gas mask boxes and kids being evacuated (I've seen them on internet sites about WW2). It's such a lovely thoughtful idea, I'm sure he'll love it.
