You're right, that certainly does happen

using bookmarks would mean i actually had to sort the hundreds of unorganised bookmarks i already have lol and id end up with thousands of them i never actually get rounbd to opening and entering.

i wouldnt mind if they were getting jumbled in because theyre being bumped, but unless they are getting bumped by invisable posts thats not the reason.

ahh well nm, ill go back to attacking by end date tomorrow.

k i have seriously lost the plot now....i cant see the post you quoted and replied to above for looking lol

but yep i know what you mean, and its why i refresh the page before turning it....i expect them all to have shifted down or up depending on what direction im working as new posts have been added or older ones have been bumped. but i expect them all to move in the order they were in iyswim.

If you use Firefox and you download to bookmarks you can use the dates from MSE in Bookmarks Manager

with just one click you can sort all of the dates into date order ie E: 01/08 - E: 31/08 or click again and you get E: 31/08 - E: 01/08

in bookmarks manager just click on "name" at the top to sort by date order

PCL - I usually try & always do the comps posted that day & there are usually always about 11 pages worth every day except sunday when there are less - today there are 15 pages - lots of bumping by a new person on lots of them - the only thing I can figure is that someone eventually PM'd them & they have deleted some of their posts as I can also see bumbed posts with no bumpee attached IYSWIM

I don't tend to use the buttons at the top, so I'm not sure what they do, but if 'New Topic View' puts them in 'Thread Start Time' order I think I'd sort them that way to do the comps and then just check through in 'Standard View' later on to make sure that the new posts on the bumped threads weren't anything I needed to be aware of.

When I was trying to keep up with things as they were posted I did the same as furndire posted, so that I didn't miss any ending ones I wanted to enter, but kept up with them as they were posted too.



Edited to add: I open all the pages at the same time with Snaplinks so that the comps don't change pages as I'm entering them when new ones are posted!

The "New Topic View" button does put the comps into thread start time order. I used to use the boxes at the bottom to sort the board into thread start time but have been using the button ever since it arrived with no problems.

I've noticed that the Whatsontv instant win comps don't seem to have been posted (well the ones I have checked so far).
i.e. http://comps.whatsontv.co.uk/competition/bandq_vouchers_500.php and http://comps.whatsontv.co.uk/competition/omega_watch_prize.php)

I would like to go though and post them all, but I am suprised that they are not here yet? Has there been discussions before that led to them not being posted?

Edit: I've just posted the Omega one, but will wait for a response before doing the others! I would like to post these, so if it's OK, hopefully someone else won't beat me to it!!

I think it's because they are "Powered by instant!!!!!!!" which are known to generate a lot of spam

Edit: MSE won't even let you post the link so they've obviously wanted to block the site too

I think they are not posted as the format has changed recently to the same as "Pick me Up" did last year.They are viewed as spammy on here plus there is no guarantee that anyone at all will actually win.Not for me but cheers for the effort.
