right...just had a call form scottish power with a no obligation wanting to give me a quote to validate my entry into a comp they are sponsoring the prize money for. chanig to them is NOT a requirement, and the quote is entirely no obligation....and she didnt even ask me to switch given that im paying less to my current company.
the worrying thing is they got their data form my offers! now ive not used my offers in years, and had arguments with them in the last year about my details etc which i have ahd confirmed in writing have been remioved form their website and tbf ive had no calls or emails since.
number they rang on was my comp number which has been in existance for less than a year. apparently i entered the comp on the 14 of november.
only comps i can think of whereby scottish power may have been mentioned are the johnson press ones.....i dont mind the no obligation quotes.....but ive neve rnoticed my offers being linked to johnson press comps before, nor any other sites unless it was a whats on tv one but i havent even noticed them saying linked ot my offers thought the spammy tick boxes they now use are very similar.
i only enter comps here and usually spammy ones are flagged up long before i get to them.0 -
Oh I'm so confused with the regular's board again!! I posted a comp on main board with the correct expiry date and added weekly to end of the title and then posted it a link to my post on the weekly thread. I've just noticed that the title of mine has been edited by a BG and moved over to the regular's board so is no longer on main. Why has this happened when it doesn't happen to most of the dailies/weeklies/monthlies? I've never posted on those boards and only ever put a link to the main board in the relevant thread. I get the threads are useful but do many people actually use the sub forum itself to post comps on rather than the main board? I think my post may now get duped as the telegraph fashion email has just gone out referring to the comp again2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

well i understood the point of the regular board to be for posting regular comps in so that they dont get posted on main and bumped every day/week. and yes people dop post in regs, is just that the majority dont...there is no deffinition as to what counts as a regular so its peoples own choice...they post in regulars and get yelled at because people who only use main miss out, they post on main and those of us who comp by end date their miss out....we need an official deffinition and then that used by everyone and enforced by the bgs.
whetehr we will ever get one or not is another matter, and no matter what the official deffinition gets decided as re which count as regulars and which should be posted as brand new comps every day/week/month instead of as one thread with new prize and answer bumping it each week will cause complaiints and outcry.
while on the subject can i say thank you to everyone who does add links tot he regular threds, be they to comps posted in main or regulars and be they comps that require enter once but have daiky./weekly prizes or that we must go back and enter every day/week. i really appreciate you taking the time to do that so i dont miss out since i sue those threads and end date mainly0 -

Agree would be good to have a clear rule, I was just surprised to notice that my post had been moved when others haven't and mine didn't require any updating as no answers were required (not saying that it should or shouldn't be on that board btw). I just get very confused by it all!
I try to always post on the regulars thread but sorry if i ever forger2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

.
Can't believe the gall of Scottish Power phoning people up to offer a quote the same day that they announce that they are putting up Gas by an average of 2% and Electricity by an average of 8.9%
I never enter any comps that Scottish Power sponsor now as they always call and they are also very persistent
told them last time they called after entering a comp that my number was a TPS registered number and that I didn't appreciate there calls they went on to say that I had requested the call by entering the competition therefore it did not matter that it was a TPS number and they where quite within there rights to call me
I then told them that I wished to revoke this permission and I no longer wanted my number to be held on there database
I have not received any calls since0 -

I'm just throwing some thoughts in here so please feel free to talk about it
As there is a regular comps sub board it should be used for regular comps, if it was used consistently then serious compers would get used to checking it as well as checking the main board
however if a comp can only be entered once, even though a regular prize (daily, weekly etc) is given out then I think that should be on the main board,
with the regular comps board kept for comps people have to enter daily, weekly etc
