Meatballs, spag bol, chilli... and i'm done:rotfl:
Do you not have a really sharp knife to hack bits off it while its frozen? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I am so glad your heading isn't a recipe! :rotfl:
How about making some of it into burgers? They don't look "mincey" and you might get them past the fussy one?
Or you could try the "eat it or starve" tactic??0 -
Another option is to use some for Lasagne.
I think after the mince has been cooked, once cooled it could be re-frozen in smaller portions. I've done this a couple of times.0 -

Hi sammy
Could you fob Oh off with savoury meat roll ?
Its basically leftover mashed potato, a chopped onion -zapped in the micro, a bit of raw mince (a couple of oz should be fine)and 1 or 2 skinned sausages-raw ..you mash all the mix up together and (sounds nasty but its yummy) -I can't give you quantities as its a "whatever you have" meal
Then you roll out shortcrust pastry to a rectangle -spread the mix over and roll up like a swiss roll and bake in a medium oven,,,
my mum has done this for years -its lovely as all the flavour soaks into the pastry on the inside..
you can alter it to suit so mashed swede, carrots etc if you have them. its lovely with mushy peas n gravy
oh..you could turn it into pies pasties if you prefer -but the roll goes further
OH need never know whats in there-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
you could add some chopped veg and curry power then make little pasties or mix it with sausage meat and make a meat loaf:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

Hi Sammy,
Once you've cooked it you can then re-freeze it in smaller portions. There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas for different things to do with mince so I'll add your thread to it.

I think that should be discussed. Surely, the combination of a hearty meal followed by one less mouth to feed is a win-win situation? If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I think I should warn SK's boyfriend that making your own mince with one of those old-fashioned hand-operated meat grinders is very pleasurable for all the wrong reasons ... that bit's the the driver who cut you up at the roundabout on the way to work, that bit's your boss, those bits are your cow workers, that bit's the driver who cut you up on the roundabout on the way home from work ...
Also, I've found a recipe for risotto, which claims that you can make it with minced meat. I will try that one out before posting it, though. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
