Hi everyone :) thanks for that article Nixi - it was a great read, although I read it yesterday whilst watching tv and eating and I checked my facebook half way through. I tried to think about just one thing (being in a hot natural spring in the sunshine) while going to sleep last night but i found it impossible, absolutely everything else crept in. It's made me realise -again -quite how much my mind races too. I wonder if that's something all the dribblers have in common? I'm going to try and practice every evening so i force myself to relax. I do struggle as i feel that im not being effective unless i'm doing a million things but then at times my mind will just force me to shut down and i hit exhaustion which is even less effective.

How are all the dribblers? What's everyone up to for weekend? I think i'm taking my Nephew to see father christmas arrive in the harbour on speedboat. Last time we took him, he slept right through it. Hoping for another 'Xfactor party' too :D

lol Em, sounds like me! I have started reading books again at night as it is one thing I can do easily without doing anything else, and it really helps me get to sleep and relax - the nights I don't I find it much harder as my brain just keeps going. Father Christmas on a speed boat sounds fab ... can I come? (If I was closer I really would!!)

I am busy delivering my Avon orders this weekend, putting up christmas decorations, ordering a worktop for my kitchen, and on Sunday we all are going bowling at my son's friends birthday party ......... got a feeling I won't have time to get all the decorations up :(

    Hugs Mabel!! ;)

    xx

Ooh yes reading used to be good for me too Nixi, i'd always be attached to a book but then just stopped and now i only read on holidays. I might raid the bookcases and join you lol. And you're welcome to join me seeing Father Christmas on his boat too! In fact, you're welcome to take my nephew instead of me lol. He was a right handful at the zoo last week, demanding ice cream in the cold and refusing to get out of the ball pool.

Your Avon sounds fab - Avon ladies are always lovely :) Bowling sounds fun too! I might also get decs up this wknd, we usually leave it 'til wk before Christmas as OH wants to do it as soon as December comes but i always try to convince him to have a year off decorating. It never works so we just end up doing it late. Last year we paid £50 for a tree - one of the leftover ones, so if we're paying that we may as well get our money's worth. Last year it was up in the house for about 10days and then out in the garden on it's side for over 10weeks waiting for OH to take it to the tip. I always feel guilty as they seem such a waste of a tree. Enjoy your bowling, sounds fun! X

    hey all.....

I am up for the challenge next year, in my own little way..... I have not succeded this year in making much money (in fact I;m still trying to get rid of stock :( ) I will concentrate my time on saving money around the house!!

Not a lot to report here other than the jobs going well..... and I'm back on the happy pills.....

and the !!!!!! is hitting the fan big time as far as the school goes. The chair of governors has resigned and left us in the lurch a little.... everyone else wants me to take over, which TBH is a little bit of an ego boost, but do I really need the extra hassle? It's really difficult descion to make.....

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well!

Hi Mambury :) Don't think of leftover stock, think of the successes! That's what i try to do - i try to ignore that i have £200 worth of books in my wardrobe and the rest went to my nephew! I bet you've learnt loads from doing your business! - and it's been good if it's concentrated your efforts for next year.

Good to hear your job's going well and hope the happy pills are doing the trick :) What a terrific compliment to be asked to be chair of the governors! Why not go for it and see how you get on - they obviously think you're perfect for the job :D If you're attending the meetings anyway, why not chair them and get the extra credit and control lol whip them into shape. If it becomes too much you can delegate some out, or resign as chair and still add it to your cv :) Ok i'm not best to ask (not that you were lol) Good luck with your decision whatever it may be.

OOOH and - thanks for the festival socks! They've seen me through the cold weather (obviously not every day else i'd stink!) Whenever they're clean, they're my 1st choice :D

    :) em!!

Its a massive role to be the chair.... much more than just chairing the meetings..... I would be ultimatly (and legally) responsible for the school, kids, staff etc..... OH is not keen for me to take it as it will involve a lot of work (all voluntary of course!) and then theres the funding changes and possible threat of closure in a few years too..... erm.. a lot to think of!!

Hey MAmbury :) Strangely I was only wondering how you were earlier today :)

Flip, being Chair does sound like a big responsibility, would it be worth talking to the old chair to see exactly why he walked away from the position? it might help you make a decision.

I still think PM has the potential to be a fab business, so maybe you should see your stock as a future opportunity just waiting for you to have the time to give it a go???

Awww Em, I hope I can be a nice Avon lady :) How old is your nephew? I'd love to come to see Santa ... sounds fab. I am trying to choose a local place to go next weekend...

woohoo - think I'm up to date with work!!
Have not even checked my work emails today. yay.
Haven't gone back through all the posts so sorry for not replying to everyone.
Have got my x-factor wine and fizzy water at the ready after a lovely day with the kids and DH.
They are going to watch Tinkerbell upstairs tonight for their movie night.
Mambury, it sounds like a lot of work and at the same time really important to you and I know you are passionate about your kids education. I guess the political climate may make it really frustrating for you too.
maybe think about the reasons you put PM on hold/ closed it. Then think about whether that means you now luckily have time/ financial security to do this or means that you will be taking on too much and end up back in the same situation of feeling like you are getting cranky with kids etc and all spare time doing housework etc.
I don't know the answer but I'm sure you can find the right way forward.

You have hit the nail on the head Jo...

Thats exactly where I am coming from, but on the other hand I worry if we don't have effective leadership as a governing body then the school is doomed.... ARRRGHHH.... my head hurts now!!
