We are sort of debt free. We'll still be paying car finance until September but as this was at 0% from the beginning I'm not going to pay it off any faster. And I still have student loans coming off my pay but not hurrying to pay those off either - they'll be paid when they're paid. Our savings accounts have higher interest rates than the student loans so I *think* that's the right thing to do.
So debt free, but not debt free if you know what I mean!
And thanks on the baby clothes!0 -
Off to the hospital today for a scan to see if baby is still breech. But to be honest, I think he's turned. Had a rotten night the night before last with lots of movement and cramping pains and when I woke up my whole bump looked and felt different. It still feels different now - no hard lump sticking into my ribs and a LOT of pressure in my pelvis instead so I think he may have fnally decided to go the right way up!0

Just booked a weekend with The Sun holidays - Blackpool in June. Ironically exactly the same place and same date as where we took DD for her first holiday - 9 years ago. DD has been nagging to go back to Blackpool as she can't remember it. Hopefully if we do a cheapy hol this year we will be able to save for next year.
Now, I need to find out about using Tesco vouchers as deasl to go to Blackpool zoo / pleasure beach etc. Anyone care to explain how that works?0 -
Back from scan and as I suspected he has turned around. Typical man, just taking a long time to do anything! He hasn't yet "engaged" though so midwife is recommending that if he hasn't by next week it should be checked out due to previous problems with fibroids. I'm not too worried though as neither DD nor DS engaged until the last minute!0

Fantastic news about him turning - am really pleased for you! I can help a lot with tesco vouchers etc for blackpool and area - will write more tonight - am in middle of dealing with kids!

Some parcels arrived from Additions direct this morning - can't believe the reductions on some things. My Mam bought my niece a baby Born horse and carriage for Christmas and thought she's got a good price getting it reduced from £50 to £40. I just got it for DD for £10! Plus the stable which is supposed to be £35 for £6. It's quite ridiculous really the profit they make before Christmas. Hiding it away to give her as a gift "from the baby" when he arrives.
Also got some stuff for Christmas for niece and friend's little ones - jungle animals playset backpack £20 reduced to £4, Doll 7 piece accessory set £35 to £6, a game £10 to £2 and a battery operated Winnie the Pooh - £30 to £4!!! Wasn't sure they would all come but they have! Oh, and two Baby Annabell gyms that I would have resented paying £20 but am quite happy with £4 - that's one for DD and a present for her best friend's birthday. Think I just about have birthdays all sewn up this year now.
However, my bank accounts are all over the place today, with payments that have been taken but are not showing where to and with all the money i've transferred around. I have cheques that are showing but not cleared, transfers that are showing the money still in the account they were transferred out of and transferred into - it's taken ages to work out how much I actually have!!0 -
Received a £4.18 refund from BT and OH's pay was slightly more than expected so transferred the BT refund and the extra pay (£22.20) into the "emergency savings" account. It will probably have to be transferred back in a week or two but hey ho, we can pretend to have savings for a while!0
