Just done my self assessment tax return online (for mystery shopping) and it was a lot easier than I expected. That's one more thing off my mind. Just hope I did it right!0

At least you've got some savings, no matter how small they are!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

That's very true. It's a bit of a novelty actually - I've never had savings before.0 -
Great that you're now in a position to save! And since you've just paid off the last of your debt in full I think you were fully justified in the Boots spend!
Have you still got snow? We've to go to Teesside on Monday so see our mortgage adviser, and wondering if it will be an easy or difficult journey - I think you're somewhere up that way! Oh yeah, we just sold our house!!!0 -
No, last of the snow disappeared overnight. DD was very disappointed as she wanted her Dad to see it when he got home (err..I think he's seen snow before!)
I posted on your thread about the house move so won't repeat it here apart from to say Wayhay!!!!
Decorations down and packed away in attic, tree gone to be recycled at the tip, cards either cut up for tags or in recycling box, everywhere cleaned properly (unlike the surface cleaning done while tree and cards in the way). Normality is resumed...well for a few weeks anyway.0 -
wow, the idea of savings! i dream of those days, its so nice to see someone with around the same starting debt get to the end of the journy, it gives me more motivation to get the debts paid off.
are you ready for youe impending arrival, i always think he may have made an early apearence if i dont see you for a bit!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
Lol, no I'm not expecting an early arrival at all. My family all tend to go over their due dates. I was highly shocked when DD arrived on the exact day she was supposed to. She said today "Three more weeks and I'll have a baby brother" and I had to break it to her gently that it could actually be five weeks if I go overdue.
Plus, going off previous labours I will have plenty time to inform you all that I'm in labour and give you a blow by blow account as we go...whether you want to hear or not!
Now speaking of pregnancies, there's a girl down the street who is also pregnant and due the same week as me. OH casually observed today "I saw X today and she's nowhere near as big as you are!"
Is that grounds for divorce / murder??
I pointed out (through gritted teeth) that the girl in question is 18 and it's her first baby and that does make a difference (or I say it does anyway!!)
But can I severely thump him? And claim a hormonal imbablance or something??0 -
Ooh, lunar, I just noticed your whereabouts is "somehwere up north". Just being nosy but can you say how far up north (In a PM if you prefer). I always get highly excited when I see other northerners around!0

Signed my A+L account up for mobile banking today. Sure I won't ever use it but hoping to get the £10 that Martin mentioned in his email this week. Worth a try and only took about 10 minutes to so.
Then OH and I have booked next week's Asda delivery - how organised is that? Quite liking doing it online as we seem to get loads more multibuys. The plan is to not do any shopping the following week other than bread / milk / potatoes and save a week's shopping money. We should have loads in cupboards and freezer (OH spent ages yesterday making meals and freezing them in individual portions) so I'm sure we'll manage. If it works we plan to keep skipping a week and save the money.
Hmm...OH just came in and asked if I fancy going for a walk (think he's deliberately waited until it's dark!!) so off for a shuffle round the block (as far as I can manage!!) then need to be getting kids ready for an earlier night than they've been used to for the last couple of weeks. Will miss them when theyare back at school tomorrow.0 -
Well, the £2000 mortgage overpayment account money went into the bank this morning so have written a cheque to get rid of the marbles card. I've already madea payment this month but I'm hoping this extra payment might get there before the statement date and that means I don't have to pay interest (fingers crossed!).
Phoned marbles to ask how to send an additional payment without a paying in slip.
ME: "Good morning. I would like to make an extra payent to my account this month but have already sent the payment slip and envelope. Is it ok to send a cheque and letter instead?"
MARBLES CUSTOMER SERVICE: "Sorry Mrs Chocaholic, I'm afraid we don't accept payments over the phone"
ME:
Anyway, it turns oput they will take a cheque mid-month so need to go and post that and an ebay parcel. Also need to pay a cheque into the bank that I've had a week. Have a stotting headache though (have had it all night!) and can't really be bothered but must find some motivation from somewhere!0
