  • Had a midwife appointment today and everything fine. Baby even kicked the machine she was listening to the heart with. Told her about sleeping problems and asked about tablets doc gave me. She said was fine to take as doctor wouldn't have prescribed unless necessary. Going to take one Friday night I think when OH is home and i don't have to be up to take DD to school - can't wait for an unbroken night's sleep - how sad is that?

Slept really badly last night, but had work on my mind a lot as a colleaue had phoned earlier in the evening. She also said the teacher who had my class yesterday left in tears at the end of the day - eek! Midwife did suggest today that I should just accept if the doctor wants to sign me off until maternity leave starts - still don't know what to think. I feel a bit weak and feeble by staying off work. Having said that he may send me back next tuesday anyway so decision made.

Also, think my cravings have kicked in. When having DD I couldn't get enough of ice and ice lollies (the cheapest plainest ones possible). Over the last two days have felt the need for cheap ice lollies, so much so tht have had to ask DH to bring some home with him and I am currently snacking on frozen pineapple and mango until he gets here (not the same but will have to do!). When having DD we used to joke that I was having a snowman, not a baby; ironically when she was born she was born cold and blue and had to go in an incubator to get her temperature up - DH still blames me!!

Oh, and financially speaking - got a £4 book of vouchers from a survey site today, not much but £4 better off!

Good news that the appointment with the midwife went well! Hope the viewing appointment went well too (when you eventually let them in! What did you tell them?!) Not too long now until that scan!

Hope you're still trying to relax, good advice from Hypno - if you do get offered the extended sick-note then please please take it!!!

Hi choco, glad the midwife appt went well.

Don't be in too much of a rush to get back to work. When you see the doc next week you will have to be completely honest with yourself - no telling him that you are feeling better if you are not! Even if you feel a little better, if there is a way to go, then you MUST take the chance to rest. If you don't, it will only get worse when the baby arrives and you don't want to risk PND etc do you?

I hope you have managed to get your feet up this evening and that you have a good night's sleep xx

Are you in cahoots with my OH / doctor? That's exactly what they said!

Well, I gave in early and took the sleeping tablet last night. Now I was expecting it just to make me sleep (well, you would!), but no, I still woke up loads during the night. The only difference was when I did wake up, my head felt emptier and I could get back to sleep relatively quickly rather than lying worrying. Had a head full of cotton wool this morning though! Still think it would be so nice though just to go to sleep and stay asleep until time to get up.

Pandapaws, the viewers are buying the house up the street. The estate agent said she didn't understand why as ours is a nicer house - maybe we put them off with our untruthfulness? Not that I'm especially bothered as not sure I could cope with the stress of moving just at the moment anyway.

No not in cahoots just talking from experience!

Don't know if I have mentioned this, but a couple of years ago I was signed off sick by the Dr - 2 occasions, both for just a week each........and I didn't do it - I told myself that I had to go to work........so I ignored the doc, went to work, and ended up driving myself very close to the edge.

I would hate for anyone else to feel the way that I did. So please listen to the doc, and listen truthfully to your own body xx

Ah yes, but now I am self employed, if I don't work, I don't earn!

If I could get a sick note and take time off on full pay for a bit, then I would be doing so!!!

anyway, am now sitting watching Crappy daytime TV with coffee in hand - no more work for me today :p

  • Can I rant about Egg again???

They didn't take the mortgage DD for October due to changing bank accounts so I paid it last week by debit card. Looked today and it's still not come of the account. Phoned them up and they said it's been returned as the card was "invalid" and he thinks they've taked the card details down wrongly but couldn't check as the person who took them is out all week.

Have tried paying again but annoyed that it's likely to show as a missed payment on credit record. Said this to Egg who agreed it probably would but said "Well, you could always write to us if that happens and we might put an explanation notice on your record" Grrrrr......
