Hi Choc - how old is your DD? Does she want to be a bridesmaid for someone she barely knows?
Could you say that as no-one can look after the baby then no-one can attend the wedding?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

She's 8 and she's torn between what she wants to do. She has actually seen my stepsister more recently than me as she occasionally gets invited to my Dad's house (I don't).
Anyway, I have had half an hours blub on the bed, a cuddle from OH and he's off to make me a cup of tea (hopefully not in a dirty cup or with a nasty taste). OH says it's all hormones and the fact that DS is off to Germany tomorrow, combined with how tired I am because I'm not sleeping well and I suspect that he's probably right (much as it pains me to admit it!) as the logical side of me knows that i am making a mountain out of a molehill.0 -
Chocaolic110.
Forgive me I have just stumbled accross your post.
Big hug!
It dose not matter if all the hormones on the planet are rageing just now.You feel fragile. You sound like you have a lot on your plate but able to deal with it most days.Good for you.As for your children well done for having smalls who take a pride in their attendance and self respect. No mean feat that!!
If your relationship with othe family members is strained ,why sould you have to give in and be nice to fit in with their needs.?Your own family comes first. As for wedding falling on your 10th,well sorry but Id be arranging somthing wondrful for MY family as a celebration of us.Meal, cinima, river trip ect somthing you can share and enjoy and you can all look back on and smile about.
Give OH another big hug ,look at your loved and cherished children and decide what is right for you.:T
As for the teamines always like that:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No you are not being unreasonable, and hormones or not, these things come out of the blue and hit us without warning, and we have to deal with them, which takes our last scrap of energy leaving us with none left to deal with the every day stuff that we have to do.
So, have all the tears that you need, and give your emotions the "respect" that you need to give them.
And above all, do what is right for YOU and your family. And if that means missing the wedding, then that is what is right.
I hope you manage to get a relaxing evening xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
If your DD is ambivilant about wanting to be a bridesmaid (oh it would be worth finding out if Stepsister or you will be paying for the dress etc!) - how does the rest of your immediate family feel (and by immediate I mean OH and DS!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Oh, both of you, please don't apologise. I was crying in a nice way(!). Sorry, I'm just a contrary old bat.
Reading back through the post, i'm actually surprised I haven't had anyone along saying "pull yourself together, some people have real problems!" - which i'm sure is what I'll be thinking tomorrow!0 -
