Claiming you know more about something than someone else on the internet is fail. In a big way.

    Anyway...

That's it guys, may as well switch the internet off and go down the pub :wall:

With the amount of driving I do daily (6-8 hours) and motorway miles I do not have the time with that and work.
    ;)

So, you do between 6 and 8 hours a day in your Mondeo, it is 10 years old and it has done 100,000 miles.
If you used your car 5 days a week at the lower estimate of 6 hours, and did an average speed of 30 mph, then your weekly mileage would be 900 miles, and you would be doing around 45000 miles annually.
A couple (well more than a couple actually :)) of things confuse me here.
When did you manage to get your Mondeo up to 170 mph, and have you "clocked" your Mondeo, because it should have done well over 400,000 miles, just like all the others which you have told us about.;)

Good work guys! The story changes every time too.....

I don't think a Mondeo V6 would manage 170 somehow, especially on a standard autobox....

    Regards,
    Andy
  • :D I heard them "resistor mods" off Ebay give good results....

    So maybe 170 is True...........

I'm glad someone worked this out 'cos it didn't make sense to me.

Oh and BTW I've had a Mondeo for 10 years so am more of expert than anyone.

Plus I bought a new tyre last year so if anyone knows about tyres - it's me.

5mm is a bit excessive, i've had part worns and im sure they haev between 5mm-6mm left on them! Each to their own though, its you who has to stop the car in a reasonable distance!

My tyres have at least 5 MM of tread before I change them.
You change your tyres at 5mm, despite new tyres only having 8-9mm of tread? Yes, less tread performs worse in the wet but tyres usually perform best once they've been scrubbed in and lost the first 2mm of tread or so (Toyo T1-R was a big one for this) so effectively your throwing the tyre away as it gets good.

A yes, you also have a magic exhaust that adds 15% more power...

And you claim that with your massively traded tyres and your magic exhaust, your Mondeo now does 170 MPH, despite being geared for nowhere near this...

    *totally disregards anything you say*

I think we may all be on "ignore" by now, but it was entertaining whilst it lasted.
