Oil Change

Hello all!

I usually do my own maintenance on my car, oil filters sparks etc.

However the standard oil change usually costs about £16-£22 for decent oil and about £5-£8 for a filter.

I recently found out that national the car tyre people are doing them from £18.90

For my car its £26.10 and thats with Castrol Magnatec- Usually costs about £26 for 4L of that alone! And it saves a messy oil patch on the drive and 1 hour or so of graft yourself.

Those with massive engines can have up to 7L under the offer

Just thought i would let you all know!

Yes, I agree whilst some national places can do these basic changes at a very competitive price but as the above post says, "What type of oil are they using?"

At least by doing it yourself you can be 100% sure of the quality of materials being used.

And at least by doing it yourself you know that the job has been done properly
  • I too use national for oil changes, also for £26.10 for fiesta, 5w - 30 full synthetic castrol magnatec.

Go to their site and put in your car reg and they will come up with the oil type and price for your car. http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx

Yes as mentioned it is the castrol magnatec! Well for my vehicle as newbie007 fiesta it is, as he mentioned check it out on their website and see! Its a garage and i cannot imagine they can mess up an oil change that badly, and if they do they're insured to put it right!

Not as it states in my Haynes Manual - states V6 = 4.5 litres, think I should know after owning one for 3 years!
