    Hi everyone,

So much for my good intentions of posting more often. Life has been a bit hectic.

Falady, when I went in to have my DS the midwife said that he was a "dainty" size - he turned out to be 8lb 13!

Lots of things happening here. We went on a big family holiday to the Cotswolds which was lovely (11 of us) with good weather.

DS has been promoted to District Manager so he's in Glasgow training at the mo. Poor thing he's feeling lonely.

DD has been taken to New York for 10 days to report on an event - she flew business class and is in a swanky hotel all expenses paid.

As to OS we've finally started decorating the last room to be done, the dining room/craft room. I can't wait till it's done so I can have my sewing machine out and other projects stored neatly. I've inventoried the freezer (again) and this time I'm determined to be more organised and use things up in the right order so that I don't come across meat that's shrivelled up with freezer burn after 18 months in there.

Hugs to anyone in need. BB I'm glad that things seem to be getting a bit better.
  • Morning peeps

Persisting down here atm so I am glad I got the washing done yesterday

Going to town in a mo to start the shopping then DH will pick me up after work - I like this arrangement because I can do my mooching before he gets here and then we get the foodstuffs when he is with me cos my ickle funky moped can't carry a lot (I have to take the folding scooter to put in the car when we have finished shopping which is much smaller than the beast machine)

JackieG ..Great to see you back and glad that you had a good time even with a little dodgy weather and a Grumpy H .

Well i am off to grab some lunch and then I am offski

  • Welcome back Snoozer, nice to see you back!
Falady, do let us all know how your appt goes!

I am feeling excited (although rather nervous at the same time) as I have started the ball rolling for going back to work. My physio says I am at the stage where it shouldn't make my pain worse as long as I don't stand for long periods or do activities where my neck is bent foward (lucikily I am not a surgeon so this should be ok!). My pain is still there, but not so awful that I can't concentrate so if I am going to be in pain still I might as well be at work. It will be phased return so I will see how it goes. It will really help the ever decreasing finances.

I am going into hospital for day services tomorrow for urodynamics. I am really nervous. Basically the one part of procedure involes having a catheter and a tube up your bum, then then fill the catheter with fluid. I find having catheters extremely painful (probably dur to whatever is wrong with me). Even though I am 26, I have asked if my Mum can come in with me to hold my hand :(.

OS wise, more cardmaking today and then meeting a friend for a good old natter and clearing out the fridge (but not necessarily in that order)!!!
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

I've popped back on to have a rest & a cuppa, hubby's on holiday next week & threatening to paint the back bedroom so I thought I'd give it a vac & dust ready & clean the ensuite that goes with it.
I finished another sock toy & posted the pics but I really must do more houswork & less crafting, like that's ever going to happen!
I'm doing Jerk chicken for tea so the chicken is marinading in Jerk spices.
    Hugs Hester

  • Thanks for starting the new thread, Hardup Hester - I thought I was an early riser until I met you!

I hope your appt goes well today, falady, and you do get to go to the Birthing Centre rather than the more medicalised setting. I think that would be a lot less frightening.

Thanks for the welcome, jackieglasgow, and for telling us about your holiday - sounds like you had an excellent time :)

Glad the peacetalks went well, bargainbird.

Congratulations on the job front, Essex-girl. Fingers crossed you get through the next stage.

Congratulations on your weight-loss, donny-gal . I'm having the same frustration of having lost and then stopped despite doing all the right things. Maybe next week will be better for both of us?

    Congratulations to your DH, snoozer.

Congratulations on beginning your return to work, jellybaby21. I hope having your procedure done isn't too bad.

It's a really beautiful day here today - blue skies and little fluffy clouds but I don't think it's warm although I've not been out to find out yet! Have an upset stomach today so won't be going anywhere.

Had some sad news this morning - my mother's former Minister (and former boss - she was the Church Secretary before she retired) has passed away. It was expected but still sad.

Am having a really slobby day today although the basic chores have all been done. I'm going to read this afternoon, I think and then knit this evening. Although I've a bit of a headache so may just knit and knit and knit!

Hi Chums rushing around like a thing possesed today to try and get everything done. Just read and sent my gas & electric readings as they will be due whilst I'm away, not as high as I thought so hopefully the bills will be lowish.I am just on my way to the library to return my books and renew a couple I haven't had time to read yet but will on my holiday.I'm going to lunch and dinner at Dds as my fridge is very empty at the moment .just milk which will do the flask in the morning and my cereal.Dd is doing the picnic stuff for the ferry so thats another job sorted .i have a few bits to iron but thats about all then its roll on tomorrow morning .Hope everyone has as good a fortnight as I hope to. I had my MOT at the Drs this morning and chorlesterol is 3.9 which is apparently fairly good and my BP is pretty good as well so it looks like I shall be around for a bit longer at least. They were pleased at all the tests which was quite reassuring at least .well time to fly ,my stick my head around the door later tonight before bed but if not I'll see you all in a fortnight
    Take care
    Love, JackieO xx

    Afternoon all

Not read the whole thread, so hugs, kisses, etc as you need them. :grouphug::kisses3:
Done quite a lot since I was last here - filled 3 bin bags with dejunking from dining room, done loads of ironing, sorted some stuff for charity shop/freegle, sent DS on his hols with GF & her family, had a job interview this morning.... need a BIG cuppa & a break this aft, I think!!
falady - hope your appt went ok; where in West Yorks are you? I got similar tale when I was expecting younger DD (now 10 months)!
Hoping to bake this afternoon, then make soup for tea using chicken leftover from last night & crack on with magazine stitching when babies in bed. Also need to do food stocktake so we can use up all sorts whilst DS away - will save money as he's not nattering for big meat-based meals! :D
Have a good afternoon, see you a bit later.
