Hi BB
Yes the sock monkey is same as the tutorial, the monkeys pose is because he ended up with one arm longer than the other, so I sewed them together!

Morning everyone
Rough night with DS. He woke at 4am and didn't go back off to sleep til nearly 6.30am  He's clingy and whingy for his dad and when I try and help him he says he doesn't want me  Oh to be so popular <sigh> I shall end up throttling him if he's this whingy all day.
Plans for today are to start packing the caravan with a few bits and bobs, mainly some food and the kids clothes. Am trying not to wear all my nicest stuff but it's hard as I don't have much left to choose from that's good for summer. A clear sign that I don't have enough clothes obviously
Tea tonight will be the chicken and courgette and potato hotpot we didn't have last night - H scoffed a load of free food at work and said he wasn't hungry for tea.
Dull, grey and trying to rain. !!!!!! this country's weather is getting to be a joke. I've even moved my tomato plants to the front of the house in the attempt to get them to ripen (front faces south). It it any wonder we're all likely to be Vitamin D deficient <rollseyes>
Anyway clearly I have my grumpy knickers on
Falady - Good luck with the MW appointment. I hope you get to be able to use the birthing centre. I was booked for one when I was pregnant with DS, it was like a really swish spa. Sadly didn't make it there are I ended up being induced
BB - Glad to see the peace talks are having some effect. Crossing my fingers and hoping your H can keep it up (the better behaviour of course)
JackieG - Sounds like you had a fab timeI've mentioned to DS about going and he now keeps saying he doesn't want to go. He doesn't like Lego, he likes Space and Rockets  News to me considering he plays with Lego most of the day (to build said rockets) and loves the Lego film. Kids eh?!
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

very quiet here as everyone is still in bed :j
WM on -trying to use the washer slightly less ( which is hard with teens who think wearing 3 outfits a day is ok ) so i am making sure each load is full - this is all down to the energy monitor we fitted last week , i am obsessed with switching things off now ( much to the annoyance of the others lol)
suns out hope it stays that way so i can do some gardening
off to the physio again today my shoulder did seem better after my visit on tues but its gone back to how it was again now
HH i love the pocket piggy - it has such a cute face
JC pleeeeeeeeeeeeease post the pic on here we wont tell him
BBhope things go ok with the peace talks x

JackieO - happy holidays x
Essex-Girl - good luck with the job x
off to work later but doing some jobs first. Have cleaned the kitchen - accidentally flooded it:D so had to mop the floor anyway. Just need to hang washing out and vac the lounge.
Am taking a HM quorn cottage pie to work for my tea, DH and DS having pie chips and curry sauce - he can cope with getting that - pies are reduced ones from the freezer.
Went with Mum to visit her 93 year old best friend yesterday - she's just gone into a home(no family so Mum's her next of kin) she does seem a lot better out of hospital - I just dont think the hospital fed her properly(she's blind and bedbound) She nattered on and I have to say her language has got very ripe as she's got older:eek::D
hope everyone has a great day xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning All
Hope we are all well, the weather here is looking promising and the washing is out already. Didn't do much yesterday in the house as spent a good few hours with my friend who has just had a hysterectomy.
All three children are here at the mo and I am quietly (one gone to work and the other two not up yet) seething. DS2 seems to have had his lunch in the office and the dirty crockery is still there, DS1 has left dirty washing at the bottom of the stairs along with 2 rugby balls and a fishing rod on the dining table! Going to have a not so quiet word later! Moan over.
Anyway, supposed to be going to the dentist at lunch time but think I will cancel - not brave enough for the root treatment at the moment. Must go for a shower and get going, should really do some shopping but trying to run the freezer down so probably wont need much.
Have a good day all. XX0 -
Morning all.............................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Today is shopping day, trip to Aldi, OH has an appointment at the 'ospital late this morning and he is then going on to play bowls, so I have had to pack up rolls for him to eat at the bowls club.
Its rather dull out, glad I do not have any washing this morning. Not much going on, I started another pair of socks last night, I have a pair on 4 needles, but have to concentrate to do those, so have gone back to 2 needles, they are looking quilt good, different yarn to the last pair.
OH had another dizzy yesterday, beilliant........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all,
Jackie, nice to see you back and sorry your Mr was so grumpy. I remember us all going on a family holiday when I was 16 and my bro was 9 and my dad was vile. Kept walking ahead of us, fussy about food every mealtime etc. He's a eater fussy anyway but this was ridiculous!!!! Men, eh so glad i don't have one tbh!!!
Falady good luck with the appointment and hope all is well.
Essex Girl, fingers crossed for the new job!
Well today I'm going to tidy up a bit and then I'm off out to give some fashion advice and get taken for lunch by my FWB. dinner will probably be HM Chilli and Rice. Also need to take some recycling down, the bottles are getting out of hand again!!!
Have good days all XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Morning All
It's B. Hot, 35C already and that is in the shade. Just done the last of cleaning/tidying as DS & GF arrive late tonight for 5 days for my birthday this weekend, a pressie to myself was their flights!
Don't want to bother with the house while they are here, so it will last now until they have gone, and then we need to clean through before we set off for home a week on Saturday. Need a dip now as dripping.
Made the 6kg weight loss, but now just fluctuating a .5kg (1lb) each way - very frustrating, even though still being good. To be honest think I am maybe not eating enough, as it is too hot to be hungry, which is rare for me!
BB - glad the peace talks are moving on well, make sure you look after you in all this and not just the kids, and remember he will slip, so make sure the balance is on him so it evens out when the slip happens:o
J-0 - Have a great time away with the family.
J-G - Glad yiou had a great time apart from GDH.
EG - fingers crossed for the job
Can't stay inside any longer.
Take care all - and ((hugs)) to those who need them. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hello again all.
Loving this threadwow, it's busy already this morning!
Hester sock monkeys/pigs are lovely....I'm trying little knitted toys this year for a change...made 7 sock monkeys last year by hand...although doalso have some sewing projects to do as I now have sewing machine!
Falady Hope midwife app goes well. I found Midwives never terribly accurate at predicting size of babies from bump. I have 6 kids and was told all sorts from "bump to big" to "bump to small"....all turned out perfectly reasonable sizes....although last ds was 9lb 15oz:eek: But then he was 19 days late...(and born at home in lovely homebirth...but thats a whole other story;)
JackiG one of my dd's has Aspergers too and holidays / days out/ any change to basic routine always present a challenge! Glad you all had a good time though.
right really must switch pc off and get on LOL
one load of washing just finished and ready to hang out, then whites need to go on.
then making jam tarts, plum cake and hopefully more jam if jam jars ever arrive (grr slow lakeland delivery...)
later need to collect dds from performing arts summer school....
need to investigate freezer for dinner inspiration as dont have it planned today...:o0 -
hope all goes well at the midwives falady x
glad you had a good holday jackie x
jackie -crumbs in the :rotfl:my boys love doing this too x Enjoy your holiday!
essex-girl good luck with the job.
