It was a brilliant day for them and they now think they have "done" London!!
thanks mate... good suggestion.... Will def be part of our time down there.

SpikeyUse your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0 -
I second the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum which is next door. Both are free, and the Science Museum has a picnic area in the basement if you are taking your lunch with you. My kids loved the Science Museum there is so much to see in there.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Don't forget London Dungeon, I'm sure they'd love all that blood and guts. If you fancy a show check out http://www.theatremonkey.com/ gives the low down on what seats to get and which to avoid. We've bought near rear stalls tickets for We Will Rock You and were not disappointed. In fact is spot on advice.
I've also found out there is only 1 genuine discount ticket booth for shows http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/tkts you can only buy on the day and not in advance.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
The Bank Of England is worth a look at. Its free and is quite interesting. Guides in charecter are fun, lots of computer screens with interactive things to do, the history of money and even being able to handle a real gold bar.
Took a 7 yo and a 16 yo and there was enough to keep them both happy for a hour and half.
And if the weather is good, a boat from westminster pier up to greenwich or up to the thames barrier. If you have a family travel card you get reduced rates and if you dont fancy going all the way to Greenwich, take the round trip to The Tower of London - its worth it just to see landmarks from the river and the rather tongue in cheek commentry thats given0 -
I have exactly the same problem (12, 8 and 8!!) and had to visit London last year for a wedding. We found a lovely hotel which accomodated all of us in 1 large room for £75 per night including breakfast which I thought was fantastic. It's a little way out and cost us £20 return fare into central London on the train (but that did include underground too). We were so pleased we stayed 3 nights. Hope this might help.
