Planning to take family to London for the first week of Easter hols - trying to get accomodation is turning into a bit of a pain though.

As we have 3 kids and the youngest is now too old to be classed as a baby (when a lot of hotels would let you put up a travel cot in a room for 4people) we struggle to find hotels that will take us in one room (not willing to take two rooms)

    Kids are 11, 8 and 2.

    Any ideas, suggestions??

Regent's Palace is a glorified hostel & can be full of young people enjoying themselves
  • To be honest I had looked at it prior to today and thought the same. I would like something a bit more upmarket but of course wanted to pay the cheapest price. That does not mean I want it cheap I just don't want to pay for more than I have to.

Are there any guest houses in that area or maybe a short journey away?

    Vixxann,

Have you not tried the Citadine Aparthotels? They do 2 bedroom apartments throughout London, and often have deals on laterooms.com.
    Their website is: http://www.milesfaster.co.uk/citadines-hotels-london.htm

    Hope this is suitable

  • You do get what you pay for in central London.

I would never use a site that you cannot choose your hotel but is based on what price you are prepared to pay.

I note your course is a Friday and Saturday so I assume you are arriving on the Thursday and leaving on Saturday after the course is over.

I like to stay close to Regents Street and with a bit of luxury but at an economic price.

I recommend you do the following; buy a London A-Z from your local newsagents this means you can see where a hotel is in relation to your course. Regents St is a long road and runs from Piccadilly Circus to almost the front door of the BBC Broadcasting House.

I recommend https://www.londontown.com (click hotels and follow the instructions) I have had some cracking bargains from this site, right in the heart of London.

Some hotels are not covered so check them separately, and these are all 10 minutes walk from Regents St.

Holiday Inn - Berkeley St, Mayfair.

Best Western Hotels - Bryanston Street (Did a check for you and this came up as the best deal if a hostel type hotel is not what you want.)

https://www.stgiles.com - Never stayed here as it is a very large hotel.

My personal recommendation is https://www.rathbonehotel.com This is slightly more expensive but give them a ring and see if you can shave the price using your MSE skills.

Decent central London hotels on weekdays are always full as London is more of a weekday city than a weekend city.

    Justine,
If you do not know London and do not like the tube. You may find this site useful. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ ,

    From the Travellodge FAQs
Family rooms can sleep any combination of adults and children, with a minimum of one adult and a maximum of four people in a room. Please note that two of the beds are only suitable for children both under 16 years of age.
  • I agree, I have also found that web site to be most useful in the past. Enjoy your course.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
