  • Morning diary!

I've had an ebay complainer:mad: I haven't had one before. Apparently they don't think my item looked new and they had to clean it. TBH i'm sceptical as it was a puzzle that has never been used so I have no idea why it would need cleaning. They said the box was damaged, well perhaps it got squashed in the post? I don't know. I'm not in the habit of lying on the listings and it truely was new in my eyes. I have responded saying what outcome does he want.

Does anyone know the etiquette in what I should do? The item was won for £3.20+P&P

I don't really see why I should refund and they keep the item. If I ask them to post it back and I refund the £3.20 it seems silly as the postage was only about £2 so what does he gain?
  • i would offer to refund half the price - £1.60.

if they are not happy with that then get them to return via a tracked method;) as per paypal rules.

i presume that as they have not immediately asked for a refund then they want to keep it.

don't let it put you off x
  • Thanks FSM. They have replied and said they are happy with my response and that's the end of it!! No asking for a refund and have left good feeback:doh: Great outcome!!

I've just been emailed by a friend about another friend's hen night in April next year. It's going to cost £140 plus drinks:eek: Luckily the friend who's organising it knows we don't have any money and has said there will be a local night a few weeks afterwards so I think i'll go to that.

Why are hens/stags so expensive these days? It's madness.

These friends are all childless. Maybe that explains it:rotfl:

I bought myself a new outfit for tonight, but I used mainly vouchers that I had as a present last christmas so I don't feel too guilty. I need to try it on again though to see if I like it properly as it's a little different from my usual style. If I hate it in the cold light of the non-changing room I'll take it back on monday

    Have a good weekend
  • glad you sorted your ebay prob out ok - well done you.

we once had a more expensive hen wknd/trip with a group of friends - but we booked everything in advance and all gave a certain amount of money per week/month to the organiser to pay for it.

    enjoy your nite out x

Glad your ebay problem sorted itself out, it's horrible when people are not happy with something.

I don't understand the need for expensive hen nights either, there seems to be a need to compete to have the most exciting night out these days. I went out for a meal and a drink for mine - 2 years ago. It was a really good night and didn't cost everyone the earth.

  • I haven't posted for a couple of days. Nothing to report. Have listed a few bits on ebay, nothing that will bring me my much need thousands but hopefully we'll sell a few bits and raise a bit of cash.

I'm trying not to spend anything this week. I'll have to buy some petrol but I'll find a BP garage as I have a £15 reclaim voucher I need to use. I have to buy the petrol and send it off to get the £15 back .

I've just chased up my £50 John Lewis voucher that I won. Seems strangely absent and I was hoping to use it to buy christmas presents with it.

I exchanged some of my Tesco vouchers for toys and i'm going to have a look into whether I can buy anyone else's gifts with them. I have £40 left in vouchers so could get quite a few things if only I could work out what I need to get people!

Nectar points are a bit useless aren't they? I might be able to use them to get the rest of ds' christmas present, a CD player. I can probably find out on here if Argos will take the vouchers in part payment or if I'd need enough points to cover the whole cost. I'll have a look.

I'm spending this evening making up some hours for work, not much fun but needs to be done and dh is planning on watching football so it seems like a good idea.

We also need to get on and list more on ebay before christmas.

I wish the post office near ds' pre-school wasn't shut though as it's making posting the items a nightmare:mad:

Hope everyone's evening is more exciting than mine!

My evening's not particularly exciting, currently playing bingoport as well as mooching on here

Well done on the ebay listings, hope you get some good sales!

DH and I have been saving our nectar points - we used them for Eurostar tickets before and hope to do the same next year!

  • I've not been too happy over the past few days. I think everythings got on top of me, not just money but 'stuff':(

The car has a leak somewhere in the boot meaning its damp, stinks and has condensation, and ice INSIDE when it's that cold. In June dh had an accident and they had to replace the back of the car (still can't believe they didn't wright it off) so luckily whatever's wrong is because they didn't fit it quite right so they'll fix it under the guarantee (5 years) but means having a courtesy car for a few weeks whilst they find the problem. As it's a water issue the hole could be teeny so might find them a long while to find!

Then ds' CM raised an issue with him not being happy with her, which I thought meant she didn't want him anymore and I spent an evening worrying i'd have to find new childcare. Luckily after speaking with her properly the next day she has said that isn't what she meant and we'll try and muddle through and see how ds is. I think he's just tired after pre-school so isn't as hyper as she's used to!

I spent yesterday morning at work crying on my 2 colleagues:o who were lovely and really helpful.

I feel better today having spoken to them and realise i'm not alone, not useless, not pathetic for letting little things get on top of me. But I need to be more organised. Fighting against routine and structure isn't helping me be less stressed! So i'm trying to embrace order and structure <<shudder>>

Payday can't come soon enough, i'm scrapping through this month on my knees:rotfl:

5 weeks til christmas eve, but I can't buy more pressies til payday. Come on next week hurry up!!!!!
