I know! Japanese cars are best and so on. I am just staggered that french cars are still bought and most people don't have any problems with them. It's all so confusing as the people i've known with French cars have found them ok but online is a different story and that's all I have now...besides my neighbour's vehicles.
Many people do have problems with french cars, not everyone of them is bad, some are lucky enough to have ones which doesn't have any problems - but that's the minority.
The yaris is a cracking little car, you will have much less issues with it than a french car.0 -
It's French, do you really need to ask?0

I'm sure it'll see it's 5 months remaining on MOT, then you can give it the home it deserves, the scrape yard

Our neighbours faithfully buy new Peugeot cars every 3 years and have done for as long as I can remember. On average, about once a year we'll see an AA/RAC van parked outside their house. Only the other month the clutch cable on an 08-reg 206 snapped and the alternator on a 59-reg 107 failed around this time last year. Yet they still insist, "we've never had any problems with Peugeots." :wall:0

Actually, the 206 is OK, and if the price was right, that would be a reasonable car. I had one as a hire car once, at first I found the handling very soft and vague, but after a while I found that it was pretty good fun to drive.Happy chappy0

Fun is another name you could use to explain a 206, yes very much indeed, but reliability....

To be fair we had a bog standard 1.9 diesel one a few years back that just went and went. My friend had it and it's still going.
Perhaps that's the exception rather than the rule though.0 -
I have been lucky with renault. Had my megane cabroilet 3 years now and never and a single problem with it. Its getting on abit now 11 years old. It is low millage so will prob start to get problems when its done a few more. It looks and drives like new though and only do 3k miles a year in it.
My oh has always liked renaults and untill last year had a renault clio. He owned it for 9 years from almost new. It got to the point where most weeks he had somthing to fix on it. After getting a new shape toyota celica last year I dont think we will ever go back to french cars. Never had a prob so far with the toyota and its in a different league to renault to drive. Im def going to buy a toyota when I replace the megane0 -
What do I think about it?
It's horrible.
Don't let that put you off though.0 -
The last great Peugeot's were the 306 and 106, anything later than 2001 just doesn't have that old "Peugeot drive" which Peugeot always needed to make up for their poor build quality.
Oh and is that back seat stained Yellow?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
