    Dear Uncle Z

Much as I love you Uncle I am getting a tad peed off about the veiled threats you are making about objects up my bum.

It's what sorts the men out from the boars...

It's an ATM? You get money out of it? I can see now why all the attention is lavished on it!

Not sure whether to be flattered or worried...following a boozy confessional night last friday, appears my neighbours (or perhaps I should say my flooded-out "constituents") now count on me as an early flood alert warning..:o.....If my car is off the drive (ie parked at the top of it) ... apparently they all put themselves on flood alert :o..as they did at 2am one morning a couple of weeks ago when the sound of me moving my car off the drive woke them up and put them into "hyper-flood" mode

What a great achievement list! Well done you - and, in the spirit of abundance, what a great tax bill, if you know what I mean .... tho income has taken a nosedive, and its not nice to pay it out of current income, of course.

I'm especially glad to hear of a cunning plan - we like those :D

A pat on the back means you're lying under a cow.

Yes it was a nice (if rather brief) balmy interlude wasn;t it? Glad to hear your girlies are fine .

We are now back to freezing temperatures though and still no sign of spring greens in the shops :(

    Hi All

Suffering from battle fatigue after the rather trying events of monday so have had a few despondent days....I did discuss with the pschotherpaist whether I was depressed and she said I am just "depleted" by the continuous onslaught of these types of situations occurring (eg no water, faulty goods, fulaty building work, breach of contract) where I have to keep fighting against brick walls and having to do it on my own......and we then had a jolly good grumble about how customer service these days is useless :D

Well I am currently deciding which of my power suits to wear in preparation for my meeting with the MP this evening. I've spent most of the day organising/printing information and planning how I can best utilise the paltry 15 minutes I have been allocated (I have already sent information to him in advance).....and keep telling myself I mustn;t get my hopes up.

Following more research today, the situation is even worse than I feared re the insurance. After 2013 the insurance companies can refuse to cover not just new policy holders but also us existing policy holders as well if we are categorised as significant risk and there is no flood alleviation plan in place .(Environment Agency are not going ahead with ours ). Pants.

Looks like my flood prevention measures are going to be even more valuable to me than I previously envisaged if I can;t get cover for flooding in future....it cost the insurance company >£80k to dry out and reinstate the house, £24k in contents and £26k in relocation after "The Big one" in 2007 ..not that I'm expecting a repeat of that scale in the next 40-50 years as it was down to freak weather/rainfall .....BUT.....Wol scuttles off to investigate rebuilding the house on stilts :rotfl::rotfl:

    Back later ;)
