Thanx everyone.....I've put off posting becuase it was just MORE embarassingly bad news ......if that makes sense :o

It's been a bit manic here since last wednesday night when I first took Muffin into the vet in the early hours.....

a lot of to-ing and fro-ing.....coupled with having to be in client meetings on friday from 11am to 11pm.

I'm OK about helping Muffin to the Bridge.....some upsetting concerns about her care at the vets on thursday night which probably hastened her journey and meant I had to dash into vets to PTS friday morning en route to client meeting.... but tbh it really only brought forward the decision by 24-48 hours....

She was a lovely (and loving) girlie piggie who always licked your fingers and was so dainty (despite her size/weight). (although she really did have a problem with neutered males :rotfl::rotfl:don;t know how, but she could immediately sense if they weren;t intact, chattered her teeth threateningly and wouldn;t give them the time of day :rotfl::rotfl:). She is the last of the older "pre-flood" generation and now there is just her son Nibbles (with my sis); her two nephews Maple and Willow (with me) and niece Pierrot (with Aunty Smashed) left. Bandit/Ginger/Bailey the other three remaining in my tribe are all "post flood" piggies. She had an extra very happy year of life because my vets were brilliantly open-minded about the fact she was a heart pig and needed meds. I am sad she has gone but content I gave her the best possible life in view of her health issues. RIP lovely lady.

..Got back midnight friday night only to find Bandit in shocking pain with a case of bloat . (I) was already knackered (well OK Bandit was too but that op was three years ago :rotfl:).....having had a 4 hour meeting with clients that afternoon, dinner with work colleague and then gone to vets to pick up Muffins remains....only to spend another 2 hours massaging Bandit;s tummmy and feeding various meds. Got to bed after 3am. His tummy was back to normal the next day once I got up but we still haven;t got the results re his appendage problem.....and he is still not entirely happy (ditto Ginger)...and I think the bloat is just another indication that his conditon is worsening :(

Still, today is last day of Jan and I am "getting there" despite some distressing communications with family this week....plus ca change there then :rotfl::rotfl:

    So...here s the good news....

Letter to the water company has been sent claiming £85

Invoices to end of month raised.

Got new mentoring assignment (= 6 paid days delivered over the course of a year)

Got another two clients to bill against the "contract that was meant to start last April but didn;t until November"...and have cunning above-board plan to release a lot more of that money "in advance"

Annual cashback on credit cards due next month (approx £200) - to go straight into offset drawdown

Got rid of one item on freegle on sunday which has sparked me into starting my de-cluttering proper...and putting stuff back on ebay

Got actual (not estimated) fuel bills so now have a full year and can now work out best way to switch

Starting to feel like I'm positively working my way out of the mental minefield..(aka head out of bottom ;)) ....and am developing some cunning (but inspirational) plans going forwards..including a piggie website, some other exciting business acitivites...and writing a couple of books :D

However I STILL havent invented the formula for selecting the wining lottery ticket
    ...........YET!!:rotfl:

    Baby steps

Hello Wol, hello all - I remember that photo, I actually downloaded it from your thread, it was so sweet....

you do sound back on track - I know you're saying you had lots of negatives, but look how well you coped with what there was - and look at all the positive financial stuff and plans! Very good news.

Keep it going - one day at a time

One encouraging thought - a year or so ago you would not have coped so well with so many unfortunate events in a short space of time. But look at you now, Wol, you are dealing with each pie in the face as it arrives and moving on upwards all the time! Your posts are more positive and accepting of misfortune than previously, and you are focussed on plans for the future. I think Wol has grown up at last - yes, there will always be carp to deal with, especially the family kind (the same the world over) but you can be boss of it instead of it being boss of you. And of course the MSE tribe will always be here to provide broad shoulders if you want to rant and howl occasionally.

  • What she said, brilliant post Nargle. I am having a little trip down to Chez Wol at the end of february. Even better I will be getting paid to do it as well. I am going to Aldershot to do job for the TAs, so I thought seeing as they are paying me to travel down there, I could not miss an opportunity to my lovely friend. I tell you what Martin. you have brought a lot of lovely people together over the years, People I would never have met, let alone just speak to. x x x x x
