....I am pleased to announce that I have managed to "reverse-engineer" an oft-quoted "water into wine" event by offering prospective new plumber a bottle of wine to come and "turn me on" whilst quoting to "sort out my pipes"

Wol so glad you can see the funny side - I would still be
This will probably sound really 'off the wall' but have you ever thought of getting someone in to Feng Shui or 'cleanse' your house ?
Hope you get turned on very soonxx

I don't know how you keep going with it all Wol- bloomin idiots !Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I return at 13.45 to find they've finished the job, filled in the big hole they dug in the banks of the stream....... and b**gered orf...
AND LEFT ME WITH NO EFFING WATER :mad:
(and no heating/hot water either)
Obviously in a hurry to get to their lunch, they have forgotten to turn the stopcock back on....not only that, the decorator was still here, and he confirmed they didn;t knock on the door to check it was back working before they left.Rang South East Water and I may have to wait 24 hours for them to send someone out.....although the chappie assured me he was logging it as "no water supply" so it would get the highest priority

Wol, i'm not sure you've got the hang of this calamity free new year yet.
I guess you're pacing yourself, but try it - maybe for a whole week. You never know, you might enjoy it.
Have you written a letter of complaint yet? Might as well try to get some compensation out of them if you can. Who knows, it might stick and you start getting compensation from other sources too.
Now put that wine away. You're limit is 2 small glasses when things go wrong.

You know what, Wol? You are a plonker magnet. You attract the plonker variety of tradesman. Time you followed Ellidee's suggestion and had a good feng shui session!
On second thoughts .....you could go into business deliberately enticing away all the plonker tradespeople so that the rest of humanity can have a stress-free life.....now, how many grand a year could you charge for that? One life - your life - live it!0
