but didn;t want to chance my luck and inadvertantly "kink the cable"..... so have left that job for another day.

You don't want a kinky cable. Especially uncontrollably. It *is* best to leave that until later...

The main thing is it works...:j.....and this is great for my peace of mind. I am having a "flood soiree" next friday for my nearest neighbours. This means my elderly neighbour will be able to "partake of the facilities" without resorting to climbing the stairs (and falling down them ...)..and therefore I will be protected from another heart attack (as happened last thursday :o)

PS ...I know he wants a snog but quite frankly this is surely an unacceptable (and rather risky) way of trying to obtain the kiss of life :rotfl:?

I've told you before, if he wants his snog, then no hands below the midriff - especially yours... :naughty:

I believe it's the law against "passing off".

Erm,Wol .... never mind the neighbours, if you had *no* working toilets at one stage, what were *you* doing? Flushing the toilet is the first thing I wondered about with the Northern Ireland burst pipes and whatnot .... and yours has gone on for even longer, I think.

:rotfl::rotfl:It wasn;t actually a problem in the end KC. The "first flush of the morning" in the en suite worked Ok as the tank was already full (that's how I discovered the pipes were frozen - it didn;t immediately refill). So after the blind panic, then rage, sobbing and stomping had calmed down :o..(Plus the consumption of three cups of tea and a packet of fags) I decided my plan of action. I firstly covered the main bathroom ceiling with parcel tape to stop any more of it falling down on me and then that meant I had one working loo (thankfully bathroom wasn;t frozen...just dangerous) and then spent the rest of the day gently thawing out the en suite pipes and put the Piggy Palace heater under the eaves for the duration of the cold weather .....simples :D

Well I am making some progress :D

South East Water are sending someone to change the mains stopcock out in the road that currently is broken (which means therefore we can;t turn off the water supply to my property in the even of a burst )

Builders foreman visited yesterday and was so gobsmacked when he saw the giant hamster nest he actually took pictures of it. He assured me that it will be put right. Also they are sending a decorator in to sort the coving glue and make it presentable :T:T

I think I have now unearthed most of the paperwork to be able to do my accounts and have it finished for monday to send to the accountants to prepare the tax return and audit :j

Despite having 35mm of rain over the last 72 hours.....the stream has managed to contain itself within the banks . .....so many thanks to the Environment Agency team who now regularly clear out/maintain the watercourse - it is flowing much better and able to cope with heavy rainfall without scaring the residents silly on a weekly basis as happened in the past :T

I have also summoned up the enthusiasm to resume the ongoing client work (which should kep me out of too much mischief for the next three months) and feel very chuffed at pulling a rabbit out of a hat this week in order to solve a major problem for one of the clients :D (deffo one of thos "achievements" to put on my CV)

Right - need to do some more floooding admin stuff, then visit a couple of nieghbours to get them to sign up for the Property Protection survey and finally settle down for the evening with the piggies and do the accounts........whilst watching the second part of ....wait for it......"Flood" with David Suchet...riveting stuff :rotfl::rotfl:

Hello Wol, sorry I have not spoken for a while but honestly felt for you with Beechie and the crap you have had to deal with. You are coping brilliantly ... The reason I have not been on for a bit is a few huge decisions I have had to make.... But you have to make them and once made live with them...

I am leaving my beautiful little boat for a while and have been offered a job in my home county of Cornwall, which due to various reasons I have decided to take. Huge upheaval, there will be tears when I leave my friends of 23 years... But ultimately for various reasons the right decision has been made.... Yeh well ask me that when i have moved...:rotfl:

    Thinking of you ....

Wol, that sounds a bit better! The giant hamsters' nest still makes me laugh :) though a dangerous loo doesn't :(
