  • Hi peeps,

How are we all, Just popped in to let off steam. :(:(:(:(:(:(

where shall I start, How about getting up at 04.30am. Setting off from my house at 05.30am this morning. Cold, very cold. Defrosted car, and off I pootles. Carefully. Icy roads. And 110miles in front of me.:eek::eek:

So far so good, until I get on the A1. First sign I see is, Accident junction 62/63. Marvelous I thought. But at least it should be clear by the time I get up there. Ha ha ha, bloody ha. Nope.

But in the meantime, I came across, rain, sleet, hail like you would not believe, and out of the blue a chuffin blizzard.

Now i have to admit the Angel of the North did look rather impressive. But then just around the bend junction62/63 is a huge jack knifed lorry.

2hrs to go 3 miles. Sooo happy not. By this time it 08.30am. Should have been at work at 07.30am. By boss was 20 minutes ahead of me. We kept in touch throughout it all, so, she rang me to say she had got within half a mile of where we work. Harlow Hill. And she could not get up the last hill and she ended up in verge facing the wrong way.

Me, still sat on the A1 and still only moved half a mile.:mad::mad:

My boss rang me again to say she was going home and that the base was closed because of bad weather. Now, call me blonde at times, or even stupid. But would it not have been prudent to let us workers know that it was all snowed in and they had sent everyone home.:mad::mad::mad:

I turn around, but needed to get my head together and let the A1 southbound clear, that had also had an accident because a foooookin foreign wagon driver thought he was invincible in the snow. _pale__pale__pale_ !!!!!!,

I got within 8 miles of work, gutted. Now I had to drive 90miles back home. But then I thought of all the cleaning I ould catch up with. It was
11am by the time I got back on the road. So, now i do the same journey in reverse order including the same weather.

Am I rambling, I dooonnntttt care right now.

I had booked my car in for its MOT on Tuesday morning, due same time as my tax. Taken a day off to get it sorted. No problemo I think to myself. Until I get 8 miles from home. !!!!!!!!

Oooh, what can that be behind me with the lovely twinkling blue lights. I thought it was very nice of the police to give me my own flashing christmas light escort. Bless.:eek::eek::eek:

He was such a nice man, pulled me over. He must be lonely I thought and just wants to have a chat to a kindly nurse.

Good Afternoon madam, (Good afternoon, does he know what I have just been through. Obviously not.) The reason I have pulled you oer is because according to our computer you do not have a valid MOT for this vehicle.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

!!!!!!, I was very nice and told him it was booked in because it ran out on the 30th November.

Erm, no madam, it ran out 30th October. Soooo, a fixed penalty notice,
    60.00 fine.

Can I just say guys, I feel really really really, like I should have another glass of wine.

anyway, Had my rant now, Sorry peeps, I dont often blow a gasket.

    Hi peeps,

    :hello:

This is the North. We have that stuff here. ;)
and out of the blue a chuffin blizzard.

We have apparently had 4 inches of global warming. Looking out the window it just looks like three. When it gets to a full six inches, I'll let you know... ;)
Now i have to admit the Angel of the North did look rather impressive. But then just around the bend junction62/63 is a huge jack knifed lorry.

Woah there! You didn't try the Western Bypass when it has been snowing did you? I don't know if you've ever noticed it when driving, but there's a huge catapult behind the Washington Services loaded with a car. When ever a flake of snow hits its sensor, that car gets fired into the central reservation. Every time. Without fail.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. There are many other routes bypassing the bypass, let me know if you want to know them (it depends on the time of day as to which one is best)
2hrs to go 3 miles. Sooo happy not.

Yeah, it took me about 2hrs 40 one year I was working at Team Valley to go from the Washington Services to the roundabout at Team Valley in the snow. That too was a happy time...
By this time it 08.30am. Should have been at work at 07.30am. By boss was 20 minutes ahead of me. That does sound dumb. A lack of consideration at the very best.

You do get them. The 4x4 drivers are even worse. They're the ones that have "Police Aware" stickers stuck on their oil sumps...

  • It wont be anything special, it really is mainly to get me back and forth to some of the bloomin awkward places i work at.

Not very many army bases in town centres. They are all scattered in the middle of nowhere.

I have seen one for 1,500. Which will do me ok. So not spending a fortune. I now have a full current bank account so back
in the land of the living for first time in 6 yrs. But they want me to wait 6 months before they will look at a loan or overdraft.

anyway the bank manager said she will have another look at it and will let me know tomorrow morning.

Going to bed now, I have not been fretting about anything for a long time and I do not intend to start now. And If I stay up any longer
that is exactly what will happen.

Night night peeps, take care xxxxxxxx

Earliest snow for 17 years apparently. Already the councils are complaining about grit... <insert rolling eyes smiley here>
